How Having Kids Impacts Your Relationship With Your Car

When you’re a young independent guy, your car can often feel like one of the most important things in your life. It’s not just the four wheels that you use to get around, it’s a symbol of who you are, of your freedom and independence. The stereotype of a young guy being overly attached to his car might be kind of funny, but it’s also pretty understandable. Of course, as with everything else, that can change pretty drastically when you have a family of your own. Having kids can completely change your priorities in just about every single area of… [Read More]

Snow Dogs Wales Again! (My Sunday Photo)

This week my Sunday Photo is yet again us searching for Snow Dogs Wales! We spent yesterday morning searching for ‘A local Lad’. That’s the snow dogs name! It’s modelled upon the awesome welsh footballer, Gareth Bale. R was desperate to have her picture taken with this snow dog because one of her idols is Gareth Bale. The smile on her face shows how much it meant to her. R loves football, and in particular Gareth Bale. The other day she said to me, when I’m older I’m going to play for Gareth Bale. I replied that’s good, why is… [Read More]

Garden Party Barbecue with Iceland: Video Special #Ad

Summer has arrived and for us that means it’s time to get the barbecue out, gather round family and friends and let the good times roll! I think there’s no better way to bring the whole family together than a good, traditional barbecue. Did you know that the UK is Europe’s leading BBQ nation, hosting over 130 million BBQ’s in 2016? Over the past couple of weeks we’ve already had two barbecues, so this will be our third this year and I’m sure we’ll have many more to come! Thankfully, Iceland are close by to give us a helping hand… [Read More]

My Five Year Old Twins And Their Desire To Learn

My five year old twin girls have just finished their first year of school, and I have been amazed at how much they have developed and how inquisitive their minds have become. Their curiosity on how things work keeps me on my toes with a constant stream of questions. Their minds are being stimulated everyday that they attend school. This means of course that whatever they learn one day, is reinforced the following day by their teachers. However with the six weeks holiday now fully in force, the biggest danger is that they forget what they’ve learnt in the last… [Read More]

Spring is here! Time to Get Birdwatching!

Now that winter is well and truly behind us, it means that those of us who love nature can get back outdoors. Whether that’s sitting in the garden and watching the local wildlife, going on bug hunts with the kids or sowing some seeds to grow your own vegetables.  For us, we enjoy bird watching. As a dad of five children, I’ve tried to encourage all of my children to spend time outdoors and to enjoy it. My older three children enjoy playing football, whereas my five year old twins love to dig in the dirt, sow seeds and watch… [Read More]

Chicco Cross Runner Balance Bike Review

I have five year old twin girls and they always love to get out and about and one the many ways they like to go the park or just generally out and about is by using their bikes or scooters unfortunately their bikes have stabilisers and we so often we end up pushing them along because their pedal power is not the best so when we were recently sent a Chicco Cross Runner Balance Bike for review I thought this is just right for them. And hopefully get them away from stabilisers and onto two wheels. Where freedom of the… [Read More]

My Son is 18 Years Old Today

I have five children and now three of them are fully grown adults able to do all those things legally. This is one strange feeling. The years seem to fly past. Omg ! I’m getting old, haha!  Today is my son A’s birthday and he is 18 years old if was able to go and pick my son at birth and know what sort of adult he would grow up to be I would of easily picked my son A. He is to me perfect in every way.  It doesn’t seem like yesterday that he was lying in my arms… [Read More]

My Two Eldest Daughters Have Grown Up

There was definitely a point in my mid to late teens that it was not cool to be seen in public with my parents. In my case it was just my mum. The days of going to Tesco to do the weekly shop was a big NO NO! Just in case I bumped into any of my friends. Conversation between the two of us became less and was usually limited to what I wanted to eat for tea, and if you are going out what time will you be home.  There was a time before this that I would have… [Read More]

Younger Dad:Older Dad,I’ve Been Both

I have had the great fortune in my life to be a younger dad and a older dad and when I recently thought about it I felt for me there were some differences between the two.  Their is no right time to have children because nobody knows when you are going to meet that person that you want to start a family together and if you do start a family together there are no guarantees that it will be happily ever after with a fairytale ending.  My first adventure with becoming a dad was in my first marriage and I… [Read More]

My Twin Girls and Half Term

My four year old twin girls are on half term this week. This is split between my wife and I due to our work commitments.  I start off with Monday and Tuesday. Monday  is a very long day as my wife has to do a late shift in work and isn’t home until 8pm. I have usually put the girls to bed on my own saying that the girls miss their mummy at bedtime, but they are always very good.  First thing on Monday morning R asked me to get out a table from behind the sofa. I had no… [Read More]
