Back To Basics: My Blog

I have been blogging three years this month. Last Thursday I woke up feeling very disillusioned with blogging and in particular my own blog. Although I’m very prone to mood swings, which I’m sure my wife can testify to, in fact a rollercoaster ride could actually be safer, haha! My mood swings have at times have made me delete all social media from my phone. Yes, I know very childish, but sometimes the whole blogging and social media can become just to obsessive. I have quite simply lost my way, I’m not sure where I want my blog to be… [Read More]

BlogOnXmas 2017. It Was Awesome!

I have been to my second blogging conference, yay! It was awesome! I didn’t arrive full of nerves and that terrible anxiety I felt back in May when I attended my first BlogOn Conference that had all disappeared. It was a busy day for me that started out at dropping my son off at university in Swansea. Then a drive up to Manchester from swansea for BloxOn Xmas 2017. Thankfully there no real roadworks and it was a fairly easy drive without any hitches unlike May when I was stuck on the M6 for two hours! Upon arriving at  Hotel… [Read More]

The Perfect Playroom Project

Every new father wants to do his part for the child making their arrival, and as we can’t grow the babies in the way that the mother can, DIY is generally our best avenue. Building cots, setting up rocking chairs and painting the nursery is the way to be as prepared as we can be. A little pride in a project never hurt anyone and when your child outgrows the nursery you so lovingly put together, you need to think of the next one. My Wife Makes Me Giggle With Her Obsessions

My wife has an obsessive streak that I  find hard to occasionally not giggle at, but in a very nice way. I wrote a post a long time back called my wife’s obsession with sewing, knitting and baking. It’s still one of my best ever read posts. Over recent years since our twin girls were born she has for a better word gets a moment where she starts a hobby and throws herself completely into it. Some examples of the past few years are 1. Sewing. This became very big thing and she started downloading patterns for toys to make for… [Read More]

What Happens When Your Children Have Children?

From what I’ve learnt by speaking to other parents, when your children have children it is one of the greatest feelings in the world that you are a grandparent. Of course, it is completely different to when you became a parent as some of the pressure is taken off you by knowing that your children will do a good job at becoming parents, because they will follow your lead and you did not do a bad job at all! Becoming a grandparent is an amazing feeling as you know you have brought your children up well, and that your grandchildren… [Read More]

What Is The Future For An 18 Year Old?

In a few days time my son will be 18 years of age and for all intent and purposes the world should be there for him to conquer in any way he wishes, but it’s 2017 and the world today is not easy for a young person embarking upon their journey into adulthood and beyond.  He will finish studying in school and hopefully if all goes to plan and he attains the grades he requires he will be off to university. He is taking the more difficult route because he had an unconditional offer, but that university is his hometown… [Read More]

Dad Bloggers Will Always Be the Minority

As a Dad blogger I often read how we are always in the minority in the blogging world and in truth I really don’t see that changing any time soon. I don’t know the exact stats, but I would imagine for every dad that starts a blog there are numerous mum’s starting a blog, but this all got me to and I wonder why? Why is the blogging world so heavily dominated by women? Are mum’s/women better writers than dads/men? Is the blogging audience predominantly women who only want to read other women’s blogs? I personally have read great blogs… [Read More]
