Bluestone National Park With Persil UK #DirtIsGood #Presstrip

We have just arrived back from Bluestone in West Wales after spending the weekend there as guests of Persil UK. We were invited to Bluestone Wales as part of their #DirtIsGood campaign. The campaign is all about getting outdoors as a family, and I couldn’t think of a more perfect location than Bluestone Wales. Situated in Pembrokeshire, Bluestone Wales offers up plenty of opportunities for families to get back to nature. We’ve actually been to Bluestone a number of times, however this time was definitely a bit different and that’s because all of the activities for the children and the… [Read More]

Summer Is Here That Means Lots Of Gardening

Summer is now upon us. The next three or four months are hopefully the times when we spend lots of time in the garden. It’s that time of year when our seven year old twin girls spend hours playing in the garden on the trampoline, the swings, playing football or simply just making up games for hours on end. It really is so important to me that our girls spend as much time as possible outdoors and reduce the screen time to hopefully the minimum amount. Thankfully the girls love being outdoors but for that to happen you of course… [Read More]

Rocketship Education Teacher Becomes a Student to Understand Them

Emma Volpe is a teacher at Rocket ship United Academy. She was excited to hear about the Professional Development Fund back in 2015. She had worked for the public charter school for a few years before she heard about the Rocket ship Education Program. This is a program that allows teachers who have worked with Rocket ship Education for at least three years to get $1,000 for their professional development.  Emma knows that she did not want to use the funds to attend a series of lectures or conferences. She recently started teaching English to students who came from a… [Read More]

Switch Off The Technology This Half-Term That Was My Aim

It’s been half-term this week and I decided that it was important for me to put my phone down and just have fun with my seven year old twin girls. I don’t want to be that parent that uses a tablet, laptop or the television as a babysitter for my children. This can so easily happen in this world of technology. Kids today have an almost unlimited amount of choice when it comes to technology, but too much can easily shut them off into their own little world. The learning of the use of this technology comes from us as… [Read More]

Safety Gear Every DIY Enthusiast Must Own

The DIY community has got a lot of new members over the past couple of years. There are more DIY projects to try thanks to websites like Instructables and getting started with them keeps getting easier. You also have more tools and materials to work with, including advanced ones like 3D printers and ABS plastic.   One thing you don’t want to neglect when getting started with DIY projects is safety. If you are spending a lot of time outside working on a treehouse or a shed, for example, consider looking at these softshell jackets for extra protection and comfort…. [Read More]

Dad AF #letstalkdad

I am very proud and honoured to be a partner in a brand new App and website that is completely dedicated to dads called Dad AF. Going back some months ago I was approached and asked if I would like to be part of a brand new app that will hopefully enable dads to talk and ask questions. I instantly thought yes! I love this idea! A website/app which is purely for dads to talk and seek advice and ask questions that they wouldn’t maybe ordinarily ask. It is also a place that if dad’s are struggling with fatherhood they… [Read More]

It’s Such A Struggle At Times: Life

As a father you should be strong. As a husband you should be strong. As a son you should be strong. As a man you should not show vulnerability, weakness or that you may be struggling from day to day. So that’s what society portrays even today in 2019. Yes it’s better but we still have a long way to go. Well guess what. I don’t feel strong, I don’t feel good about myself. I’m struggling on a daily basis, but I have no idea why! When people ask how are you? Are you ok? I reply with a smile… [Read More]
