Dad AF #letstalkdad

I am very proud and honoured to be a partner in a brand new App and website that is completely dedicated to dads called Dad AF.

Going back some months ago I was approached and asked if I would like to be part of a brand new app that will hopefully enable dads to talk and ask questions. I instantly thought yes! I love this idea! A website/app which is purely for dads to talk and seek advice and ask questions that they wouldn’t maybe ordinarily ask. It is also a place that if dad’s are struggling with fatherhood they have a place to use as a sounding board. It’s a help centre because after all becoming a dad is a mind blowing experience and the first time we become dads we haven’t a clue so this is a perfect resource and long overdue.

The founders of Dad AF are hoping that the app becomes a place where dads can have a platform for everything they need. They’ve teamed up with people like Better Help, an online counselling service, Families Needs Fathers, Dads Matter, Blue Ribbon Foundation which helps promote health and well being for men and Calm which stands for Campaign Against Living Miserably which is a movement for highlighting suicide which is of course the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45. It’s a free helpline and the webchat is open 24/7.

What inspired me to get involved with Dad AF is that there is actually very little online solely just for dads. There are so little online resources where if you need help or need to talk or find other dads that are in a similar position where you can talk openly or simply just have a chat.

I’m a father of five children from two marriages and when my first marriage broke down, which was a good few years ago, there was nowhere to turn for support or to ask questions and looking back I made decisions that if I could have had some feedback off from other dads experiences in similar situations I could possibly have made different decisions. Sometimes listening to somebody else’s experiences can help you make a more informed decision and that can only be a good thing.

This is where for me Dad AF will be a resource that can only help dads. It’s also available as a website, but importantly it’s an app so it can be with you all the time on hand to use on your smart phone.

The app is so easy to use and completely free to download. There is a live feed and a community feed. In fact just about anything as a dad you would need.

The truth is dads generally don’t talk and Dad AF is perfect to get dads to open up about the good and the not so good of being a father.

I would highly recommend Dad AF as a brilliant resource for dads and you can download it here from either the APP Store or Google. If you are a dad what are you waiting for?

If you want to download the Dad AF app which I would highly recommend you do you can right HERE. Come on dads what you waiting for. Don’t forget to check the website out as well HERE.

What a brilliant idea … the very best of luck with it, Nige, and friends!
