I have recently teamed up with Oral-B and their range of Star Wars toothbrushes and toothpaste for children.
The importance of oral hygiene cannot be emphasised enough. It’s so important to start teaching children this as early as possible. Did you know that as soon as a tooth appears you need to start brushing it? It’s important to get children into the habit of brushing their teeth, so that your children don’t see it as a chore, but as a pleasure to keep their teeth clean and in good health just like superheroes! That’s why Oral-B are encouraging us as parents to help our children have a lifetime of good oral care.
Good oral health is an important part of a child’s overall health. 80% of one to two year olds in the UK have not visited a NHS dentist in the year to March 31st 2017 that is a staggering statistic.
From three years of age children should use an electric toothbrush, a round brush head as standard practice. This is because it’s best for plaque removal, and children aged 3-6 should always have assisted brushing to make sure they are doing it right.
We recently went on a family trip to the cinema to see the latest Star Wars film, The Last Jedi. My five year old twin girls are big fans of the Star Wars films. However, they have completely different favourite characters which always makes me smile. Considering there is only two minutes between them, you would think their tastes would be similar, but no! M loves Rey and R loves Darth Vader, completely different.
On our return from the cinema, the girls couldn’t wait to dress up as their favourite characters, and brush all those sweets and popcorn away with their new Oral-B kids electric toothbrush, and of course their Oral-B toothpaste. Children should brush their teeth twice a day for 2 minutes. To help with this, Oral-B have created an app called ‘Disney Magic Timer‘ which aims to help keep your kids motivated whilst brushing their teeth. The app really is brilliant, my girls thought it was super fun!
The girls love their new star-wars themed toothbrushes, and dressing up as their favourite character from The Last Jedi, because they too can brush like a hero!
This is a fun way to encourage your children to have good oral care habits. Plus, don’t forget! Even Jedi Knights must brush their teeth!
Check out the short video of my five year old twins when they were using their Oral-B electric toothbrushes and toothpaste. I think you will love it!
Are you encouraging your children to brush their teeth twice a day? Why not check out Oral-B on Instagram here. I would love to hear your views.
