Bluestone Wales Christmas Trip: Day 2

After breakfast we made our way to the adventure centre which the girls love and we stayed for about an hour before making our way back to the lodge for a bite to eat. 

After lunch we made our way to the Village Hall to see the Cinderella pantomime. We were all very excited, actually me in particular as I’ve never been to a pantomime show before!

The panto started with lots of lights and The Fairy Godmother came on stage and was joined gradually by the rest of cast, Cinderella, Buttons, The Ugly Sisters and Prince Charming. The cast were very professional and very well rehearsed. It was difficult to fault them. The panto was funny and slick, everybody played their part so well, but Buttons was exceptional! The Ugly Sisters did a very funny sketch relating to Twitter and Facebook. The use of current music was brilliant, R in particular loved it as she loves her pop songs!

Buttons at one point came into the audience to talk to a few children and luckily R was asked to speak to him. She did surprise me because she wasn’t shy at all! Very confident for just three years old. 

R and M loved it and joined in with all the panto traditions and so did I! I loved it! I laughed so much at times I had tears rolling down my cheeks! It was brilliant and really great fun. 

We then had a little rest before moving on to our next activity which was Storytime with Santa. This was held at the Farmhouse Grill. I really didn’t know what to expect and the girls were very excited to meet Santa. 

We arrived at 1.45pm for a 2pm start. We were shown to our table as food was included and a very pleasant surprise it was it was a Christmas dinner. It was beautiful followed by a delicious chocolate pudding for desert and we were not rushed at all to eat. 

Then the elves summoned all of us to go into Santa’s grotto for Storytime with Santa. It was beautifully decorated and the girls eyes were everywhere trying to take it all in!

Santa named a lot of the children and said they were on the good list. R and M were on it, phew! Then Santa read a story all about old toys. 

The girls then got the chance to make magic reindeer food to sprinkle at home on Christmas Eve and finally got to talk to Santa Both the girls were very confident in asking what they wanted for Christmas. 

We have seen a few santa’s this year, but I have to say this one was easily the best. He even had a real beard and we had our photo taken. The girls also had a reindeer toy given to them, but our visit unfortunately was over. The whole Storytime with Santa was brilliantly organised and great fun. R and M loved it. 

We went back home for a while and then  went to the soft play area in the adventure centre for a while to finish our day the girls were worn out and asleep by seven o’clock.
