3 Things To Consider When Starting Up A Blog
When it comes to running a blog, it’s not as straightforward as you may think. To make your blog successful it takes time, dedication and a lot of patients. When you write your first post and publish it, it’s going to take time for other people to see it and engage. At first, this may be disheartening, but in the long run, it’s full of rewards and great fun.

When it comes to starting your own blog, there are a number of things to consider – what web platform are you going to use? Do you need a graphic designer to help with your branding? What subjects are you going to blog about? How are you going to increase your readership? To help you with starting up a blog, we have put together three different things to consider.
What web platform are you going to use?
In order to run a successful blog, you are going to require a well-designed website. Luckily, in today’s world, there are a number of platforms that you can use to create one yourself. Wix is very useful and so is Squarespace or WordPress. Most of them will have ready-made templates that you can use to help put your own website together. If you are unsure of how to use the templates, you could turn to a freelancer to help. There are big agencies that you can use to build a website however you will be required to have a large budget.
What subjects are you going to blog about?
Arguably one of the most important things when it comes to running a blog is what category your blog falls under. Are you going to run a health and fitness blog? A blog on finance or a daddy, DIY blog like mine? When deciding, choose something you are passionate about and that you would like to continually write blog posts on. In order to run a successful blog, you need to be regularly posting and able to stick to a weekly schedule. If you can’t you will find your readership drops and you could lose interest in running one.
What social media channels are you going to use?
Having social media channels is just as important as running the blog itself. Social media channels give you the chance to share information with your readers, update them on new blog posts and engage with them on a more personal level. There are many social media channels to choose from – you’ve got Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, Instagram, Pinterest and many more. Try to focus on one or two of them instead of using them all. By signing up to them all and spreading yourself thin you may find yourself struggling to keep up to date with regular posts.
