[AD] Rock Paper Stories Book Review (The Rookie)

December 1, 2020

When you are a dad of five children, the one thing that I have done countless times is read bedtime stories, and just generally read my children a story especially when they are young. There is no better feeling than cuddling up on the sofa and reading a book that is fun and exciting.

In this world of fast paced technology where so much interaction with others is done on a smartphone, tablet or laptop including reading books, it’s so important to teach our children that a physical book and the written word is still so important and teaching them to love reading is vital. Reading a book is what sparks our children’s imagination. It will help them lose themselves in a story and maybe even believe they are the characters in the story that they are reading.

So when Rock Paper Stories recently approached me to review their personalised books I was instantly interested because I was able to personalise a book each for my twin girls.

Who are Rock Paper Stories?

Rock Paper Stories is a book company that personalise books to make your child take centre stage. Their books can help your child fulfil your fantas whether they are young or old, big or small. All you have to do is pick the narrative and Rock Paper Stories will make your child the star of your own customised tale.

The Rookie

I picked the same book for the girls but I was able to make it very unique to them. The book I chose was The Rookie.

It’s the start of a new Grand Prix season but this time it’s all change. The new rookie drivers will suit up for their car manufacturers for the first time, but will they achieve their dream of becoming champion in their first year?

This is where you find out! So follow your dreams and let the rookie take you on an adventure using the personalised unique story.

The Rock Paper Stories have been totally personalised for the girls. It’s really simple to order one of these fantastic books. With the Rookie book you pick your character from a choice of different characters that have different coloured hair and outfits. Basically pick one that best suits your child and then the book is totally personalised using your child’s name as they try to become a Grand Prix champion. You can also include a special message for your child at the beginning of the story, adding a special touch. My eight year old twin girls loved the story and they particularly loved the idea that the story was all about them. It was a real winner for the girls. Once you have placed your order you will receive the book in the post within a few days. It was quick, easy and very simple.

Final Thoughts

The book is made to a high quality and the story is excellent and shows the girls an important life lesson – that they can be anything they want to be in life along as they follow their dreams.

I loved the fact that the girls were able to immerse themselves in a story as themselves. It made reading the book a very exciting time and it definitely sparked their imagination.

This is a fantastic five star quality book. It would make the perfect Christmas present and is fantastic value for money at just £21.99.

This is a paid collaboration with Rock Paper Stories and I was gifted two books for the purpose of the review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% mine.
