[AD] Somfy Complete Home Alarm System Review

November 11, 2020

Making your home secure and safe is a number one priority for us. This is especially important when we are not at home. It gives me a great deal of peace knowing that our home and possessions are safe when we are out or on holiday.

In 2019 in England and Wales there was approximately 290,000 house burglaries. That’s why securing your home with a quality alarm to keep it safe is vital. There would be nothing worse than coming home to find somebody has been in your home and stolen your prized possessions.

When I was recently approached by Somfy to review their Complete Home Alarm System I instantly thought this is a perfect opportunity to secure my home and keep intruders out.

The Somfy Home Alarm Smart System is very comprehensive. It will help you protect every part of your home with a motion sensor and three door and window sensors. If these are set off by an intruder a message will instantly be sent to your smartphone and a loud siren will go off at the same time.

It also includes the IntelliTAG which is the only door and window sensor that warns you if there has been an attempted break-in.

What’s in the box?

When you purchase the Somfy Home Alarm System you will get:

1 x Link

This is the part of the system that controls everything. It connects via the internet through Wi-Fi and it will link all components wirelessly.

1x Indoor Siren

This is wireless and it sounds at 110db when an attempted break-in is detected and you can set it up anywhere in your home.

1x Motion Detector

This is an indoor motion sensor that is stylish discreet and wireless and will detect all human movements, while ignoring your pets movements.

3x Intellitags

These are smart wireless door and window sensors so that you can protect every side of your property against somebody trying to break in to your home.

2x Key fobs

The key fob is a personal remote control that will automatically disarm your system when you get home.

The Somfy Home Alarm System has many features that are particularly useful and also very clever when it comes to protecting your home.

The installation of the alarm system was incredibly easy and I had everything installed in under 15 minutes and it was all linked to my Somfy App on my smartphone. The instructions on the app were very easy to follow and it guides you through the process effortlessly explaining everything. It’s really simple to set up your Somfy Home Alarm System.

Controlling your Somfy alarm system via your smartphone was brilliant and easy to do. The sensors can be stuck or placed to any surface, and if you change your mind on a door or window sensor don’t worry there are spare sticky pads in the kit. The Somfy App can also help by reminding you that you need to activate the alarm if you are going out. If there are any suspicious activities around your home you will be alerted immediately via your smartphone.

The smart motion detector will react immediately to temperature changes, but at the same time will ignore any pets you have.

Final Thoughts

The Somfy Home Alarm System is very stylish and its design is very sleek so it will look good in any home along with protecting your home and possessions. As I have already said it was very simple to install and I was particularly impressed with the Somfy App and ease of use. You can also add other Somfy products from the Somfy Protect range such as extra cameras, a smoke detector or more motion detectors. If at any point you move home, you can move the Somfy Home alarm system with you to your new home.

The Somfy Home Alarm System is a quality alarm system and I would have no hesitation in recommending this first class, quality piece of technology. It’s a five star quality product at a very competitive price with an RRP of £349.00. It can be purchased here.

This a collaboration with Somfy and I was gifted the product for review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% mine.

Home security is so important. We have had vehicles stolen from our driveway and it leaves you feeling so vulnerable. It’s a horrible feeling. Great review for a really vital product.

With there being several break-ins close by to me recently, I have been thinking about home security, so this post has come at the perfect time for me, thanks for sharing and I’m heading over to visit their page now.

We inherited an alarm system with our house from the previous owner although sadly with no instructions. Recently, it decided to ring constantly for several hours whilst we waited for an engineer to come out and remove it! Will definitely be investigating Somfy as a replacement system! #ThatFridayLinky
