[AD] UV Light And Covid-19
We are currently living in a very surreal world that I for one could never have imagined was even a remote possibility. A pandemic that has travelled around the world leaving so many people fighting for their lives. Over 200,000 have lost their lives. This is something, that if we are entirely honest, is like a Hollywood film, but it’s not. It’s real life and it’s taking human lives like I’ve never seen before.
There has been many theories of how we can reduce the spread of infection and consequently reduce the death toll and one such possible solution to reduce the transmission of Covid-19 is that researchers are looking into the benefits of UV on breaking down the DNA of Covid-19 on surfaces.
UV light has been around for a long time and has been known to kill germs since 1874. It has been used to kill germs in industry and also clinical situations with the intention of preventing the spread of disease.
Now we have been in lock-down for six plus weeks, what has become very apparent to me is that it is going to be a long time before we can return to our lives as they were before. There is definitely going to be a new normal. Part of the new normal will be making sure our homes are sterilised and one way that we can reduce the germs and viruses from homes is with UV light.
I have teamed up with Anti-Viral UV lamps, a start-up that is committed to bringing the power of UV light in a safe, effective and convenient way to the general public so that they can use it in their homes, and never has this before been more prevalent than the Covid-19 pandemic. It certainly made us all think about how germs and viruses continue to live for a period on hard surfaces.
Anti-Viral UV lamps have brought industrial and clinical technology into products that will be suitable for the home and commercial use. What makes these products perfect especially during a pandemic that we are currently going through globally is they will kill bacteria and viruses. UV-C light, that is ultraviolet light with a wavelength between 200nm and 280nm, is proven to be the most effective at breaking apart the DNA at the heart of bacteria, viruses and other germs. Anti-Viral UV Lamps’ products are designed to be used by the general public, but it is important that safety instructions are followed, and that the devices are only ever used by adults. By simply passing the light over clothes, work surfaces or furniture it will instantly clear them of invisible germs which have the potential to harm you and unlike chemical solutions the UV light is harmless to fabrics and leaves no trace at all.

3. UV-C Smart Lamp RRP £168.00
Their most recent product which is available on pre-order is the UV-C smart lamp. This is perfect for the home if you are looking to keep a particular room clean and sterile.

You can’t be in the room while this is sterilising the room because the light is too strong, which is why it is operated by remote control from outside the room and can be set to work for 30 to 60 minutes. It will destroy all germs on surfaces and any germs in the air by turning oxygen in the air into an antibacterial ozone. Check it out right here to learn more.
There is now a growing body of research that thinks that Covid-19 could be especially vulnerable to UV light and Anti-Viral UV Lamps are currently working at Alder Hey Children’s hospital and the University of Liverpool to look at ways they can help to decontaminate their PPE so it can be re-used.
As we gradually move out of lockdown having a portable easy to use UV product on hand is going to be vital in keeping us safe. Anti-Viral UV Lamps have also been kind enough to offer all my readers free shipping on all orders – just use code SAFEFAMILY2020 at checkout!
