How The Covid Pandemic Has Impacted Our Lives
We are now coming up to two years of the covid pandemic and the effect and disruption it has caused to our everyday lives simply cannot be underestimated. It has definitely affected every age group and every aspect of our work lives and our lifestyles.

Some people in society have been affected more than others. For instance the disruption to our children’s education has without a doubt been devastating, not only to the education but also their well-being. School is very important to our children, not only to help them learn but also socially meeting and talking to their friends on a daily basis, which, over the last two years has been dramatically missing.
Many other sections of society have also been impacted by the worldwide Covid pandemic. Our elderly have had to go many months without seeing relatives, something that many of them rely on and of course look forward to a family visit.
Our work lives is also another section of our lives that has changed beyond recognition. As the Covid pandemic took hold many offices closed and we were instructed to work from home. This has now become normal for many people and it is quite likely many people won’t even return to the office.
One particular sector that has had one of the most difficult times during the Covid pandemic is the hospitality industry. This is because of the way coronavirus is transmitted. It’s meant that pubs and restaurants were unable to open simply because the mixing of people in these sort of environments meant coronavirus transmitted quicker and infected even more people so hospitality in general had to close its doors to customers.
The impact this has had on all those people working in the hospitality business, whether that be a pub, restaurant etc cannot be underestimated. Many of the people working in the hospitality trade are usually on minimum wage and although there was help from governments in paying their wages through different government schemes. It meant that many people would take quite a loss in their wages. The first problem was many of the government funded schemes didn’t pay a full wage so it was going to be difficult for many people to pay their wages.
Another part of many peoples wages in hospitality is made up from tips and when you are on minimum wage or below these tips are vital to earn a living. Culinary Schools can help all those people in the hospitality industry with their simple tip calculator you can quickly calculate your tip and estimate your share of the bill. Tips are crucial for anybody working in the food industry. It is a vital way to boost their wages.

Culinary Schools also have free online games for children and adults which are so much fun. The games for kids are particular good fun and very educational. They also teach life skills that will keep them in good stead throughout their lives.

My own children have already played a game called boiled eggs. This is where you boil more than one egg at a time and you cook them at different times. This taught them timings and multitasking if you controlled the heat correctly then you would score. The girls loved playing it and it’s just one of many games that kids and adults can play.
The Covid pandemic has changed so much in our lives and I believe it has made lus ook at ourselves and make changes about how we live our lives.
How has the covid pandemic changed your life? I would love to hear in the comments below.
