Your days are always filled with happiness, laughter and love when your children are around. Being a dad is something you will always cherish, even if they are being a handful! As much as you adore your daddy duties, you sometimes need a bit of time out to gather your thoughts. Being able to find moments of retreat in your own home is very important. Not only will this make you a much more patient dad, but it will give you some much needed time by yourself. Allow your mind to switch off and your body to relax with the following four fun activities.

1.Video Games

Imagine being able to escape into a different world for a while. This can all be made possible if you play a good video game. Whether a new piece of furniture needs building or a wall needs replastering, focus your attention on the next DIY duty on your list.

3. Cooking

Usually, you leave the cooking to your other half; the kitchen is an unknown territory that makes you feel slightly stressed out. Why not try immersing yourself into a new recipe? You will be surprised at how therapeutic cooking can be. Not only is this quite a practical hobby, but it is also very relaxing. People are bound to stay out of your way for a little while whilst you’re cooking up a storm.

4. Meditation

There are so many advantages to meditation, such as reduced stress levels and more effective breathing techniques. Download a meditation app to your phone now and see how it works for you. Just ten minutes a day will really help you to destress after a long day of daddy duties.

It is so important to find time for yourself as a busy dad. Even if your days are filled with superman lifts, school runs and football coaching, it doesn’t mean that you can’t find a few moments to yourself each day. You should never feel guilty about indulging in your favourite activities at home; you deserve to zone out for a short while every single day. It’s almost guaranteed that your partner will be on board with this plan too, because she will definitely need a break just like you. Happened upon your site and I like it. Was wondering if anyone knew the best way to get paint off a new deck? Step Dad thought he was being helpful by painting a white (wobbly) line where the steps start. It needs something, due to a couple of people nearly coming a cropper, but not paint! In my opinion anyway. I was thinking about using a glow in the dark tape, which would highlight the steps in the day and glow at night. Anyway, what’s the easiest way to remove the paint? It’s proper soaked in and I don’t really want to sand it. The only obvious solution to me is to replace the planks. Appreciate the help.
