Whether or not you should add water to whisky is a controversial issue, but many drinkers believe that a few droplets of water can help to open up and enhance the flavours.

A game

Christmas is all about having fun – and playing games! So why not take a break from usual Christmas clichés and gift a whisky game which will make a fun little extra. 

Cards, quizzes, puzzles – a quick internet search will reveal plenty of options at this time of the year and you’ll find games to entertain everyone from whisky novices to connoisseurs. Great for enjoying after Christmas dinner or for evening entertainment with friends. 

Socks 

Okay, so mention socks at Christmas and you’ll probably be met with a groan. 

Original? No. But useful? Yes! And they can be a great gift with whisky.

You’ve got two choices here, regular chocolate or whisky-flavoured truffles. Personally, we like the added extra of the themed truffles but any chocolate works beautifully with whisky for a smooth, warming flavour combination.
