3 Reasons to Paint Your Car

March 21, 2022

There are many reasons to paint your car. You may simply fancy a change from a blue car to a black one. If that’s your reason, then good for you – a change is as good as a rest, after all.

However, whatever your reasons to paint your car, one thing’s for sure – you need to go to a car paint specialist where you’ll be advised on the right paint and the right tools for the job.

An unprofessional paint job will not only look bad but could actually damage your car by not offering it any protection from rust or the sun.

With that in mind, here are 3 reasons to paint your car.

You want to change the colour of your car

As I said above, perhaps the main reason you want to paint your car is to change the colour of it. Car manufacturers tend to stick to the same palette when they build their cars – for example, the more corporate cars such as a Volvo or Vauxhall tend to come in neutral colours like black or silver, while sporty cars such as a Ferrari or Porsche are more likely to be in a vibrant red or yellow.

No one’s saying you’ll get away with pretending you’re driving a Ferrari and not a Volvo just because you’ve painted your car yellow, but if you feel your current car’s colour doesn’t match your personality, you can change it by changing its colour.

You want to increase your car’s resale value

Just like houses, a lick of paint can make your car more attractive to potential purchasers and increase its value.

Most used cars these days are seen online before they’re bought, so make sure your car is looking its best in photos by giving it a freshen up. Let’s face it – which would you want to take a closer look at and which would you scroll on by? The shiny, freshly-painted car or the car that’s dull and faded and looks like it’s about to fall apart?

Your car has a few dings and scratches

At the risk of sounding like a dodgy no-win-no-fee ambulance chaser – has your car been in an accident? If so, there will be scratches that need touching up.

Saying that though, there are plenty of ways your car can get damaged other than being in a road accident. For example, vandals keying your car, stones flying up as you’re driving along, someone bashing their door into your side in the supermarket car park, or even a deer running into your car when you’re driving along a dark, country lane at night.

However your car got damaged, it can be repaired with a bit of car paint (or a lot, depending on how big the deer was).

Reasons to paint your car

Whether you want to paint your car because you want to make it easier to spot in the car park, you want to get the best price for it or because a deer fell on top of it, painting your car will not only make it look better but it will protect it too.

A paint job from a car paint specialist will not only cover up the scratches and fix any chips, bubbling or peeling, but a professional finish will protect your car from sun damage and rust.
