Here are my 3 top tips of how to crush your debt and get it under control.

1. Adding up all your debt

This is without a doubt the most important first step to take when you are trying to crush your debt. You will need to add up all your credit cards, store cards, overdraft loans etc that you have taken out. This will then give you the full extent of all the money you owe and this will enable you to decide what your next step will be. It’s also important to include everything no matter how small or big the debt is in order to give you the full picture.

2. Seeking advice

When you have a lot debt it can be overwhelming and quite often many of us will bury our heads in the sand and sadly ignore the problem. However, the longer you ignore the problem the bigger it will be become.

This is why it’s very important to take steps to seek out a professional that can help you sort out the debts you have and to help you manage your debt and pay them off. This in turn will lift a huge burden from your shoulders and you can start living your life again debt free.

3. Budgeting

Once you have all the details of your debt and exactly what you owe then you can start to budget. This is where a professional is invaluable. They can contact your creditors on your behalf and make arrangements that are affordable for you but also acceptable to your creditors.

Once all of this has been sorted out it is vital that you stick to the plan and, in time, you will crush your debt.
