[AD] Finding The Time To Do All Those Household Chores

August 25, 2020

Our lives nowadays seem to be so very busy. Finding the time to have quality family time is so difficult. One of the biggest problems is when you are both working full-time and the children are in school five days a week. The only time that you can get out and about as a family is the weekend, but so often the weekend is also the only time that you to do all the household chores.

Here are a few tips to help free up your weekends so you can enjoy time as a family to go to places such as the park, museum, a bike ride or simply just going for a walk as a family and enjoy your time together.

Once you have finished work on a Friday it’s time to consider everything you need to do to prepare for the Monday morning and the start of a new week.

1. House cleaning

Sadly your home doesn’t clean itself so the only time you would have to clean the house is a weekend. A way around that is to consider getting the cleaners in during the week. If you live in a big city then getting somebody to do cleaning shouldn’t be a problem such as Sydney house cleaning who would come into your home while you are at work and the children are in school and you then have your home nice and clean and will benefit from the fact that it’s one less job to do on the weekend.

2. Gardening

This is one job that seems to be never ending and for me gardening is one of my least favourite jobs. If you start something on the weekend before you know it the weekend has flown by and any chance of getting outdoors for a day trip as a family has disappeared. For myself personally I have a gardener who comes once a fortnight to keep our garden tidy and leaves me one less thing to do on the weekend.

3. Laundry and Ironing

This is one job that just never stops. Clothes constantly need washing such as work clothes and school uniforms and then they all need ironing and if your home is anything like ours the the laundry pile constantly grows and the ironing pile never goes down. Thankfully today there are very good local laundry services and finding an ironing service in your area is never a problem. This will cut the time dramatically you will have to spend on the weekend doing those household chores.

These are just a few ways if you both work full-time to cut down the time spent on the weekends doing household chores which in turn will free your time up to spend quality family time together.

Do you use a cleaner, gardener or an ironing service in your home to help with the household chores? I would love to hear in the comments below.

This is a paid collaboration.

I so wish I could get a cleaner in at times. As a family of 7 the washing machine never stops, works harder than we do.

As the SAHD the housework is something I tackle daily. If we have a family day out planned I usually crack on with the odd jobs the night before so it’s one less thing to worry about at the weekend when we have plans.
