When you spend a lot of time at home, and that’s something that a lot of us have done a lot of recently with the pandemic lockdown, it’s important that your rooms are exactly as you want them. It could be the right colour on the walls that make you feel comfortable and at ease whilst sitting there watching television.
What makes your home your home is those finishing touches. The ornaments or the pictures on the wall. It’s these little touches that make it your home. It’s stamping your own personality on your living space.
For me I always find that when you add photos or prints to your walls it then makes it your very own place. I particularly like hanging photos or prints of different scenes to my walls, I particularly like to give certain areas a theme that will sometimes have special memories or a landscape of a famous place to enhance the room or just so I get to look at it.
So when I was recently approached by Posterlounge to try out their website, I instantly thought yes this is for me. I love to change things around in the home especially adding new pictures to different rooms, and just simply changing things around to give it a different feel.

So what did I choose? I picked four new pictures which are all in a canvas finish. They come with a 2cm thick wooden stretcher frame with mirrored edges. They are printed on cotton mixed fabric, with a high contrast colour application which gives a painted look finish on the canvas.
First up I chose a still life picture with roses. It’s in portrait and is a 70cm x 90cm canvas print. The colour of the roses is a beautiful pink which is very vibrant yet understated adding a touch of class to our lounge.
Second up I picked a picture called ‘This morning’ in landscape also on canvas which is also 90cm x 70cm. It is a stunning scene set at early morning with the mist sitting above and around the trees with a house almost completely obscured by the mist. The colours and composition of the picture pull you in and every time I look at it I see something new. I also love the way the sun is rising in the background with a mix of yellow and red. An awesome picture to enhance any room in your home.
Next I picked Riffelsee and Matterhorn in the Swiss alps. I chose this because I visited this area of the Swiss alps many years ago, but I don’t have any photos of my trip so this is a lovely reminder of a truly beautiful part of the world.
I love the way sun is partially hidden and reflecting on the water. The colours are very striking and it really is an eye catcher.
Finally I chose something a little bit different. I have always been a big fan of Hollywood and films, in particular the era when the stars of the screen really were celebrities. When I was growing up one particular film that was re-run on television a lot was the Great Escape. It had a huge cast of top class actors and for me the star of the film was Steve McQueen and this iconic shot of him sitting on a motorbike after he had escaped from the prisoner of war camp is an everlasting memory of my childhood.
These are my four new pictures that I picked for our home. All very different, but very stunning.
