AD| Jooki: The Music And Story Smart Player For Kids: Review
If you are anything like me as a parent you will worry about how much screen time your children get and about what they’re watching online. The technology highway is moving at breakneck speed giving our children even more choice and in my personal opinion most likely too much choice.

When I was a child and growing up there was a limited amount of children’s TV. In truth, the greatest pleasure for me came from listening to music on the radio. That left me with a lifelong love of music which I think I have to some extent passed onto my children. They all have a great love of music and also love stories.
When I was recently approached by Jooki to try out and review their new smart player with toy touch technology, I wasn’t instantly convinced. I actually thought it’s just another speaker. How wrong was I!

The Jooki Smart Player is innovative and so well thought out. It uses all the advantages of technology but gives parents the ability to protect their children from content they shouldn’t be listening too. In addition a massive plus is that it is reducing their screen time.
First of all, what do you get in the box?
1. Jooki Smart Player
2. 5 Characters with ToyTouch Technology
3. 1 USB Cable for charging
4. Quick Startup Guide
There’s everything you need to entertain your children by listening to music or stories.
Setting up the Jooki was incredibly easy. Once the Jooki was on you just download the Jooki app from either the App Store or Google Play. It’s completely free to download. From the app you can download music or stories from Spotify, Deezer, web radios or from your own device.
Then with your child, they can create their very own playlist and link it to their favourite character. All they then need to do is pop their chosen character onto the Jooki and it will play their playlist giving them control and there is no need for a smart phone to play music.

My twin girls loved the idea that they were able to decide exactly what music they wanted on their playlists. It doesn’t end there though. You can also stream audio to listen to music directly from Spotify (you will need the premium service from Spotify) or Deezer.
Key Features
1. Wi-Fi or offline (streaming & uploads)
2. Portable with 8 hrs playtime
3. Superior sound with a stereo speaker system
4. Splash proof and durable
5. MP3, iTunes audio files
6. Micro SD port
7. Headphones Jack point
The Jooki is very portable and can be taken on days out or on a holiday and because the girls have their own particular playlist linked to their toy they can listen to it whenever they want without having to connect online. This is also perfect for the car and can also be used on plane journeys as it has an airplane mode setting.

Another feature that I loved about the Jooki was that parents and grandparents can record messages or stories and then send them via the Jooki app. What a super cool way for the girls to receive a message.
The biggest feature for me is that you as a parent are able to keep your child safe. As I have already said this is massively important for me. The fact that I am in charge of the content they are listening too, and for under 3’s you can set the volume control via the app to protect their ears and set off-times for naps and bedtime. It’s a real comfort that what they are listening to is age appropriate, and the importance of this should not be underestimated in today’s world.
The Jooki requires very little, if any, adult interaction because the child has the amazing toy technology to create and learn or simply throw a party with their friends. It’s a fantastic way for your children to have a little independence and listen to either their favourite music or chill and listen to a story.

My twin girls absolutely love the Jooki. They think it’s awesome that they can create their own playlists and it was surprising how different their tastes in music are and then they linked it to their chosen favourite toy. It was lovely to watch them playing a board game whilst having their playlist playing on the Jooki in the background. Check out my IGTV video below of the girls using the Jooki.
The Jooki is of course also a Smart Speaker that parents and older children can use controlled by a smart phone without using the characters.
The Jooki costs £171.95 or £180.00 with a memory card. and is available to buy online here. If you purchase before the end of October you can buy the Jooki for £120.96 What an Awesome Deal! What you waiting for.
It is fantastic value that will hopefully cut down on your child’s screen time and let them develop a love of music. If you are looking for a smart player for your child I would highly recommend the Jooki. It’s got everything you need for your child and more.
Disclosure: This is a paid collaborative post with Jooki. I also was gifted a Jooki for the purposes of this review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% mine.
Do your children love listening to music? Do you have a Jooki? I would love to hear in the comments below.
