AD| My Top Four Must Haves In Our Bedroom
When we became parents to twin girls seven years ago, I quickly realised that our bedroom was actually no longer going to be just our bedroom. During the early days after the girls were born we had two cots in there along either side of the bed. It was a little bit crowded to say the least!

The one thing that I kept in mind was that it wouldn’t be forever and that eventually we would get our bedroom back. That’s what I was working towards and I would often visualise exactly what I would want in our bedroom and how I would like it to look. So here are my top four must haves for our bedroom:
1. Double Bed
We invested in a good quality, comfortable double bed not long after the girls were born. It was a very important purchase and we did a lot of research into Mattresses to make sure that we found the most comfortable mattress, because in those early days you need quality sleep so that you can keep going because believe me, it’s very hard work with twins. It’s totally 24/7.
Our bed is now coming up to be renewed and yes, we will definitely be looking at TV Beds. I love the thought of a Double Tv Bed so I can relax in bed watching my favourite TV shows.
2. Built in Wardrobes
I like everything to be organised. It’s my nature I guess and seeing clothes all over the bedroom does irritate me! To make the bedroom more organised I would have built-in wardrobes. The wardrobes would need to be mirrored wardrobes to give that feeling of space and room.
3. Decorating
When you have small children many jobs in the home are put on the back burner and one job in particular is decorating. It is so difficult to find the time so my plan for our bedroom is to decorate the walls in warm colours and have a feature wall of wallpaper that matches the curtains and bedding.
4. Carpets
Nowadays there is a move towards wooden floors and yes I can see the benefits. They are easy to clean and keep clean, but for me I want a deep piled carpet so when I get out of bed on those cold winter mornings I have the feeling of warmth instantly. For me nothing beats carpet in a bedroom.
So that is my top four things that I would love to have in our bedroom along with getting our bedroom back as the girls grow up and stop appearing in the middle of the night.
Our bedroom was at one time our very own personal space. It’s funny how when you have children that all changes, but hopefully over the next few years we will start to re-claim our bedroom and have it looking exactly as we want it, with a double TV ded and decorated exactly to our taste.
How would you decorate your bedroom? Do you have a double bed with a TV? I would love to hear in the comments below.
