National sense of smell day is celebrated every year on the last Saturday of April. This year it is celebrated on April 30th. The day is focused on how sense of smell plays an important role in our lives and how it connects with our other senses such as taste.

Every year National Sense of Smell Day is sponsored by the Sense of Smell Institute which is an education and research division of The Fragrance Foundation. The day is celebrated annually and museums and science centres will be getting involved by organising various activities all about the sense of smell.

Our sense smell is quite often something we take for granted, but wouldn’t it be sad if we couldn’t smell our favourite meal or a beautiful bunch of flowers?
