[AD] Renovating A Property

Your home has started to feel a bit small because your family is growing and you have decided that it’s time to move to a new home.

You have found the perfect location for maybe schools for the children and it’s a great area for your children to grow up and it’s where most of their school friends live.

So often when you find that right property it could have been previously owned by an elderly person and they have not done the house maintenance that they could have. This means you will need to renovate the property from top to bottom.

1. Walls and Ceilings

If the property is over 50 years old the chances are the wallpaper hasn’t been changed for a long time and when you remove the wallpaper, you find the walls and ceilings are in a terrible state and they need to be re-plastered. Once done you can paint them in colours of your choice.

2. Flooring

There is every chance that after 50 years the floors will need replacing and if you have a young family then you will need a floor that is durable and low maintenance. A great option for a family home with children is to install solid wood flooring. Solid wood floors are perfect. They are hard wearing, easy to clean up spills and very easy to keep clean. It’s a much better option than carpets that will quite often get stained, need repairing or replaced at regular intervals, because we know how children will always put a floor to the test with their muddy shoes and their friends visiting.

3. Garden

If your new home that you have purchased was owned by somebody elderly then there is every chance that they allowed the garden to become overgrown. So you will need to make your garden child proof and friendly. This would be a good time to get a landscape gardening company in to redesign your garden and if you have pets such as a dog it would be a great time to make sure it’s secure with fencing and a gate so your dog doesn’t escape.
