[AD] The Global Pandemic Has made Me Realise To Always Have My Yearly Health Checks
About three years ago I had a stroke which came completely out of nowhere. I still vividly remember sitting watching television and an all consuming feeling from the top of my head to the end of my toes overcame me and I felt incredibly unwell. I was rushed to hospital by ambulance and it was discovered that I had suffered a stroke brought on by very high blood pressure.

When you are in your twenties you quite simply think you are indestructible and you will never get ill. I was not alone in thinking this, but the older you get more things are likely to happen to your body, and being a man, you less likely to go to the doctors, I know I have to be in a very bad way before I would book an appointment to see a doctor. However, men’s health is very important to keep a close eye on and yearly medical checks are something that I will be having to make sure there are no underlying conditions, as happened with my blood pressure. If I had been having regular health checks then my high blood pressure may have been spotted and consequently I may not have suffered a stroke as high blood pressure shows no symptoms until quite often it’s too late and you have a stroke.
When I had the stroke I had to have many blood and medical tests to see if they could find out what had caused the stroke. When I was having one blood test they asked me if I wanted to be checked for conditions such as HIV or similar conditions. Even though I knew it would come back as negative, I thought yes it would also give me peace of mind to have a thorough medical check-up.
Getting a men’s health check is a simple easy process and a very inexpensive process. If you click on this link I can help make it even more affordable with $15 off your appointment. Just click here.
Thankfully I had no lasting problems from my stroke, but the pandemic has also made me realise that it’s important to keep your yearly medical health checks up to date. Covid-19 has been a disease that has swept across the world and sadly left many people dead, but how many of those people would have survived if they had no underlying health conditions that they didn’t know about? Quite a lot I imagine. This is why it’s so important to look after yourself and your health.
