Anti-slip paint for outside steps
Recently I was employed to make some outside steps safe for a lady of the elder generation who had walking and balance difficulties.
The steps were outside leading to the front door of a first floor maisonette so they were open to all weathers and quite often rain settled on the steps causing the odd puddle and consequently making them hazardous to walk on.
I decided the answer was to use antislip paint and a company called coo-var make exactly the right paint which is ‘suregrip’ antislip floor paint. It is ready mixed aggregated paint that gives a rough finish when dry. It can be used indoors and outdoors and comes in 8 different colours. It is very durable and makes areas safe to walk on. 
It took about three hours to apply and and it takes five hours to touch dry and about 24 hours to go completely hard.
From the pictures you can see it also has a nice decorative finish.
The steps are now safe to walk on in all weathers, giving the customer piece of mind when walking up to her maisonette.
I was very impressed by the application and the finished look, it also has fantastic safety aspects.

This is such a great idea! I have never even heard of anti-slip paint. I know a couple of people who could do with some of this on their outside steps. #MakingHome
