Brilliant Dad Feature Xmas Break (Thanks Guys) 

There is no brilliant dad feature this week and there was none last week either, but don’t worry! It’s back next week.

I have been having a little bit of a blogging break or at least reducing the amount of posting I have done over the Christmas holidays. I wanted nothing to impact on my family time during the holiday period and blogging can be very time consuming. 

This short break in publishing the feature for two weeks has given me an opportunity to say thank you to all the dads and dad bloggers that have kindly given their time to answer a few questions in the brilliant dad feature this year.

A very quick history of the feature and it’s origins are as follows.

I had been blogging for about two months and on one particular night I was putting the twins to bed and was lying on the bed next to M while she was going to sleep and my mind was working overtime with what content to publish on my blog.

One thing that always interested me was what other dads take and views on being a dad were. I’m not sure if I am just nosey, but it really fascinated me how other dads saw their roles as a parent. 

I actually knew the questions very quickly that I wanted to ask so the Brilliant Dad Feature was born. Now the only problem was to get dads involved. 

If I’m honest I thought if I got ten dads to take part that would be an achievement as I wasn’t particularly well known as a blogger so I thought why would they want to take part. 

How wrong was I! 

92 weeks later and it’s still going strong. 

The Brilliant Dad Feature is without question I consider one of my best achievements on the blog and it would not have been possible without the kindness and generosity of every dad that has taken part and the many more dads to come in the future. 

I am just seven weeks away from reaching number 100. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think it would go that far. 

One of the most interesting things about the feature is everybody answers the questions so differently and it’s been fascinating to read every single answer and read every reply. Also some fantastic family photos. 

Finally I would like to thank all the 93 dads that have taken part and the dads yet to be published because without whom the feature would not exist. Thanks guys. I have been humbled and honoured by you all for being involved. 

We will be back next week with week 93 and moving on quickly to week 100 on February 23rd, which is still a bit of a dilemma for me as I feel I want something different for the 100th week. So, any ideas welcome!
