Christmas Eve at our Home.
Christmas Eve in our home is usually a quiet time to keep the girls calm. Today was very different!
The girls both have chest infections and unfortunately a visit was needed to the doctors this morning for anti-biotics.
Still we came home as the show must go on!
The girls started to feel better when their sisters and brother arrived for a visit and they kept them occupied while my wife and I got things ready.
The girls then made a gingerbread house with their mummy, but R kept eating the candy!
Around three o’clock we gave the girls their Christmas Eve boxes which included new pj’s,dressing gowns and slippers, as well as a snow globe each, a giant chocolate coin and a globe ball.
At about four o’clock some more family arrived with presents for the girls and us. The girls made short work of opening them!
At six o’clock the girls started preparing for Father Christmas by putting out the carrots for the reindeer and mince pie and milk for Father Christmas. They also sprinkled reindeer food outside the front door to make the reindeers go faster!
Then to bed because they were feeling under the weather and they were asleep very quickly.
Now it was time for mummy and daddy to place all the presents around the tree, fill their stockings at the end of bed and put down santa’s footprints from the fireplace to the presents.
There really is something magical about Christmas Eve when you have small children that believe in Father Christmas. If I could bottle this time of the year I would bring it out every year it’s wonderful! If only they could stay little forever.
