Do These Small Things to Help You Relax in a Stressful World
Life is a lot lately. From the constant pinging, dinging, and buzzing of notifications on your phone alerting you to another world crisis or your best friend’s recently posted lunch photos, to the responsibilities of family, work, pets, and friends pulling you in every direction. You need a break starting right now. Take one or all of these suggestions and give yourself the relaxation and time you need to reset.

Soak in Your Hot Tub
There is nothing worse than finding out something is broken when you want to relax – especially when your hot tub is on the fritz. Well, there are worse things, but this one goes on the list. If your hot tub is in need of repair or you just need to keep up on routine care, contact the professionals to schedule hot tub maintenance.
Once your cherished hot tub is ready to go, get ready for a relaxing and stress-reducing soak. Turn on a calming playlist, dim the lights, and sip on a beverage of your choice. Plan to spend some time in the comforting waters doing nothing.
Practice Meditation
If you have never tried the art of meditation or do not understand it, perhaps you think you do not have enough time in your day. Fortunately, you can meditate any time and almost anywhere. Start by finding a safe and quiet place to sit. Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes. Even if you cannot relax at first, lean into the idea and avoid trying too hard. This should not be an item to check off your to-do list, but instead something that is helpful and beneficial.

Turn Off Your Phone
Okay, turning off your phone completely may not be reasonable because people depend on you. However, you can lessen the number of times you look at the screen by turning off all unnecessary notifications, such as alerts about new in-game purchases or the latest update on your favorite shopping app. Go ahead and keep these turned off long after you are done relaxing.
Try disconnecting as much as you can from unnecessary noise. Find balanced news sources, not just ones that align with your particular worldview. Set timers on your phone so you will remember to stop scrolling before it becomes a doomscroll rabbit hole you only climb out of when you notice the sun has set. You can also take a few moments to set up your phone to better manage how you spend time on it for your well-being.
