Family day out to Noah's Ark Farm Zoo

The weather was very overcast but quite warm and at least it wasn’t raining.

Noah’s Ark opened at 10.30am and is just outside Bristol and we live about one hours drive away. 

We arrived at 10.20 and the car park was basically empty so we were able to go straight in, park the car and make our way to the entrance.

You are able to feed many of the animals at the zoo so our first stop was at the gift shop to buy feed for the animals so the girls could feed them. It’s reasonably priced at £1 a bag.  

The farm is designed that you walk around on paths to see all the animals and you can actually walk in any direction you want. From my own point of view I would prefer a dedicated path so I don’t miss anything, but not to worry as we managed to see pretty everything.

The first part of the farm is mostly ducks, chickens and other types of birds.

As we continued  we came across camels which we were able to feed in a shoot and they would eat this out of a trough which the girls loved.

We then came upon the elephants enclosure which was fantastic and the elephants were a bit frisky which was quite funny!

Moving on through the farm we arrived at the big cats enclosures. There were two fences. One which was electrified separated us from them, but we were only about three feet away and a lioness was prowling along the fence. She actually looked quite agitated and was quietly growling. All of a sudden it opened its mouth as if to let out a loud roar and we actually took a step back.

It was funny really because it can’t actually get near you, but that’s how close we were!

Moving around we came across tigers that were asleep, but looking at them though the glass and knowing they were just a few feet away, being able to see the size of them was amazing. I was glad the glass was there!

There was a large picnic area where we stopped for lunch. It was very pleasant area where you could see all the zoo. 

After lunch we saw the giraffes and zebras and there was a large play area for the girls and also my son. Bless he’s 16, but he didn’t want to miss out on the fun!

We then started to walk to the monkey and reptile enclosures, on the way we stopped to feed the llamas which was funny because they can spit. A my son was about to feed one and it opened its mouth and he jump back thinking it was about to spit at him. It really gave me the giggles as I’d never seen so much fear on his face!

The girls stopped to feed some lambs and goats then we walked down to the cafe to get slush puppies and a cup of tea at the cafe. The girls had a play in the play area, near the cafe. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, but they have an extensive menu both hot and cold and what I saw of the food looked lovely and the service was excellent.

We then walked through to see the monkeys and reptiles. 

In this area there is a tractor ride which is £2 each. M and her mum went on it and they said it was very bumpy, buts loads of fun! 

R myself and A went off to look at the monkeys. 

There was also a meerkat enclosure which are always fun to watch and monkeys were at times really good to watch play fighting. 

Finally we walked down to the gift shop for the usual soft toy for the girls. The gift shop was very reasonably priced. 

On the way out the girls had another play in the boat near the cafe. 

Our family day out was over and we all had a fantastic time. 

Noah’s Ark Farm Zoo offers a wide range of animals both farm and wild animals it is set in beautiful countryside and has lots of activities for children and at a cost of £17 for an adult and £11for children it is excellent value for a day out. I will definitly be going back again, but hopefully on a lovely sunny day.
