Going swimming with four year old twin girls
R and M are now four years of age and we can finally take them swimming on our own which is great because it’s always been difficult to find the time to go together.
Now it doesn’t matter we can take them whenever we want on our own, but a problem arises when we use our local council run swimming pool.
When my wife goes there is no problem. She obviously uses the female changing rooms and the twins being girls that’s fine.
Now if I was to take them it’s different. I have to use the male changing room and this would be wise otherwise I could upset people by using the female changing rooms.
The girls are now savvy to the fact that girls and boys are different and I feel a little uncomfortable taking them into the male changing rooms. I really don’t want them surrounded by naked and semi naked men and boys.
In the changing rooms there are very small cubicles which are totally useless. There are no doors on them so what’s the point?
So I cannot understand why the local council cannot supply a few changing rooms with doors that lock to give me the opportunity of privacy for my twin girls. Of course the same applies for mums who have sons that have to use the female changing rooms.
It is another example of how society in my opinion doesn’t cater for dads with daughters.
