How to Keep Your Bathroom Clean & Tidy
I think we’d all agree, cleaning in general is boring enough but cleaning the bathroom is probably way down our list of fun things to do. Let’s face it, cleaning the bathroom is probably so far down that list, it’s at the very, very bottom.

Unfortunately though, with the amount of traffic bathrooms get, they do need to be cleaned more often than, say, a spare room that’s seldom used. Left unclean, a bathroom can very quickly become an unhygienic health hazard.
There are ways to keep your bathroom clean and tidy though without putting much effort in and a few ways are outlined below.
Use liquid soap
If you used estate agents in Hammersmith or other affluent area when you viewed your house for the first time, there probably weren’t scummy bits of soap in dishes in the bathroom. It’s far more likely that the vendor had decanted liquid soap into an attractive dispenser with a pump.
So, if you’re still using bar soap, consider swapping it for liquid soap or natural all-purpose cleaner you can keep in a dispenser instead of a grotty soap dish that looks unsightly.
Keep towels and bathmats clean
Along with scummy soap dishes, if your towels and bathmats are a bit the worse for wear after years of use, buy some new ones.
If new towels and bathmats are currently beyond your budget, at least keep the ones you have clean and, instead of throwing your used towels on the floor or bunched up on a radiator, fold them nicely on a rail.
Get into the habit of micro-cleaning
Cleaning is time-consuming and boring. However, micro-cleaning is just the opposite. Never heard of micro-cleaning? Micro-cleaning is simply cleaning a bit of something.
You might think there’s no point in cleaning a bit of something and you should clean a room properly or not at all. But micro-cleaning is really effective and will help keep your bathroom looking clean and tidy.
For example, give your bathroom sink a wipe last thing at night or first thing in the morning after you’ve brushed your teeth. Similarly, if you notice the windowsill’s looking a bit dusty, wipe over it with a cloth.
The effectiveness of cleaning products and tools is essential not to spend much time on the mini cleaning. Besides, make sure that these products don’t contain harsh chemicals which can be harmful to your skin. Choose alcohol sanitizing wipes for a quick and easy cleanup of the germy surfaces you touch like your daily working at the office desk, home electronics, and touch surfaces in restaurants.
These things only take a second and it’ll make a huge difference to how clean your bathroom looks. And, who knows, once one bit’s clean, perhaps you’ll carry on and clean some more bits, then before you know it, the whole room’s done!
Keep cleaning products handy
Of course, you’re not even going to micro-clean if it involves making an effort to go to the cupboard under the kitchen sink to dig out cleaning cloths and products.
With this in mind, keep cleaning supplies handy in the bathroom. Either put them in a drawer or cabinet or buy a nice wooden box in which to keep them on the floor. Then, the next time you’re on the loo thinking the taps could do with a clean, you’ll be able to whip out a wipe and polish them up in a second.
Keep mirrors clean
If you’ve got mirrored cabinets in your bathroom, it only takes a second to clean them. Cleaning your bathroom mirrors won’t only make them look better but mirrors will bounce light around your bathroom, giving an extra illusion of cleanliness.
Keep your bathroom clean and tidy
These are just a few ways to keep your bathroom clean and tidy without making much effort. Of course, you will still need to give your bathroom a regular proper clean to keep your bathroom safe and hygienic but the advice above will keep your bathroom looking fresh in between deep cleans.
