How to Plan a Perfect Anniversary Picnic
Marriage is a symbol of a couple’s love for each other, and it’s definitely something that’s worth celebrating. As each year passes, a couple will go through different challenges and their relationship will constantly change and evolve. This is a normal thing, as life changes will impact you both and you’re getting older. For example, you may have children now.
However, just because your relationship has changed, it shouldn’t be weaker than when you first married. Nor should you both take each other for granted. Even years on, you can constantly work to improve your marriage and strengthen your love. One way to do this is by showing your appreciation. Thankfully, your anniversary creates a perfect opportunity for this. If your anniversary is in the summer, then you can celebrate it with the perfect romantic anniversary picnic.
- Picnic Basket and Blanket
A picnic is a great way to celebrate your anniversary because it’s both romantic and achievable. You can secretly plan a picnic with no problems, as it requires only a small amount of preparation. However, some aspects of a picnic are necessary.
To start with, you can’t expect your significant other to be happy with a picnic served out of a plastic shopping bag and presented on damp grass. Get a picnic basket for two so that you can transport your food, plates, and cutlery. Choose something sturdy and, if need be, that can insulate your food and keep it fresh. There’s nothing romantic about food poisoning from spoiled food.
As well as the basket, you should also provide a waterproof picnic blanket for you both to sit on. You can bring chairs or cushions to make things more comfortable, but at least a picnic blanket will make things far more pleasant than lying on the cold hard ground.
- Food and Wine
One of the most important parts of a picnic is the food and drinks. This is especially true of a romantic picnic, where all there is to do is enjoy one another’s company, and enjoy the picnic itself. The right food can add to a wonderfully romantic atmosphere, but the wrong food can have the opposite effect.
You can find some fantastic food hampers to stock your picnic basket with both food and wine. Even better, this food won’t spoil because it’s designed to travel. Depending on the hamper, you can use it to supplement your meal or even make up the bulk of it. Of course, you mustn’t forget your plates, knives, forks, or glasses either.
- Enjoying the Outdoors
If you’re planning a romantic anniversary meal, then the location matters. You can’t just go into an abandoned building site and expect to have a beautiful time. Find a nearby local park or field that overlooks a stunning view. Make sure that you aren’t trespassing on private property.
4. Don’t forget the flowers
Bringing flowers to an anniversary picnic can be a sweet and romantic gesture that adds an extra special touch to the occasion. Whether you choose a classic bouquet of red roses or a mix of your partner’s favourite blooms, flowers can add beauty, colour, and fragrance to your picnic setup.
Another thing to consider is the weather. Sadly, your anniversary might not be blessed by glorious sunshine. In this case, it may be an idea to have a picnic at a different time or be more imaginative with the location. Nobody says that you can’t have a picnic at home.
