I'm no James Bond

August 22, 2016

Well the title is not entirely true! I’m better looking than Daniel Craig. Well, at least I think so, haha! However, I must admit that I don’t dress like James Bond, and I certainly don’t drive an Aston Martin, but I think our Toyota Yaris is far cooler! It’s not quite as fast and it doesn’t have an ejector seat either, but I guess you could open the door to push somebody out if you needed to!

Anyway, the point of this post is about my fashion sense. In the last 12 years I have only ever worn a suit twice! Once when my wife and I tied the knot. It was a memorable and wonderful day, albeit extremely cold! It was January after all, but the sun was out despite the freezing temperature so our wedding photo’s are wonderful!

The second occasion that I wore a suit was for my wife’s sister wedding, and it was actually the same suit that I wore to get married in, as it’s the only one I own! Surely I’m not alone in only owning one suit?

So I’m guessing you’re starting to put the picture together that I’m very much a t-shirt, jeans and hoodie sort of dude! I think it’s the surfer in me, and I’m incredibly lazy when it comes to clothes. Shirts, suits and ties it are all too much effort for me!

I like clothes that are washed, dried and simply hung in the wardrobe which makes  it very easy for me to wear. The most important item of clothing that I own are my hoodies. I have a large selection in numerous colours and brands, and I wear one most days.
I’m a very laid back person and I have never felt comfortable in a suit. My job as painter/decorator means that I don’t need to dress up everyday. My work clothes are covered in paint, which reminds me if I had pound for every time somebody says to me, looks like you have more paint on you than the wall, or have you been painting? I would be a millionaire!

I don’t think I will ever be 007 working around the world as a secret agent, but I would make a great beach bum surfing around the world! Now that is the dream.
I have always been a casual dresser, and always will be with my hoodies always close at hand.

Whatever suits you and makes you feel comfortable. It's so funny how some men don't like wearing suits. We actually went to a wedidng this weekend and Grumpy Boyfriend wanted to turn up in jeans and trainers! No need to say that I intervened…#bigpinklink

I've always had jobs that required a shirt and tie…. Then I decided I would quit, stay at home with my boy and wear whatever the hell I like. I dress as I please, even if I'm a 30 year old trying to look like Bieber, I don't care if I like it I wear it. I hope I don't ever have to go back to wearing suits unless it's my choice to wear one! Great post mate 😀

I must say I do have love for James Bond. My brother was eight years older than me and growing up he would watch all the movies so i would sit and watch with him. In saying that though my hubby doesn't even own a suit! he works in IT so is always dressed neatly with a shirt and pants, no tie or jacket though. He hired his wedding suit. He has done a lot of work around the house though so he has plenty of paint splashed clothes too. #bigpinklink

Ha ha ha ha ! This made me smile! Bet you're James Bond to your kids though – dads always are! But hey, if James Bond did decorating – you'd give him a run for his money! #BigPinkLink

Misery Guts only owns one suit too. I often berate him for dressing like a teenager – ie rumpled jeans and a scruffy t-shirt – but he wouldn't be Misery Guts without them! #fartglitter

I much prefer the casual laid back look as well. I think I have a couple of formal wear and that's it. I find it too much trouble to dress up all the time and much rather be comfy. Can you imagine trying to iron a formal dress??? Thanks for sharing with #bigpinklink

I am definitely all about the comfort and I don't think you can go far wrong with a hoody. I wear a suit to work and it's nice to dress a bit smarter just a couple of days a week (or at least not have any child snot or crumbs wiped on me), but the first thing I do as I come through the door is get my comfies on. Can't fault you at all. Thanks for linking with #fartglitter x
