My 3 Best Destinations For A Solo Holiday
Going on holiday is usually the culmination of hard work and saving your pennies to be able to afford a holiday in either the sun, a cruise or visiting some of the most amazing sights the world has to offer. A lot of us will either go on holiday as a family or a couple, but not everybody has the luxury of a family or a couples holiday and they could out of choice want a solo holiday.

If you’re planning a solo holiday that doesn’t mean the entire time you’re holiday you are going to talk to nobody. A solo holiday can give you the freedom to go where you want while you are on holidays, but also mix with like minded people when you want.
Nowadays there are travel agents that can offer a wide range of holidays in Europe, USA, Caribbean and Asia which could be either a long holiday or just a short break with like minded people who are also on a solo holiday. This gives you the ability to either go out alone or make new friendships to explore your chosen destination for your vacation. So, here are my 3 best destinations for solo holidays.
1. Beach holiday (Spain)
If you are looking for a lazy beach holiday as a solo destination then you can’t go wrong with Spain and the Balearic Islands such as Minorca or Majorca.
There are many tourists spots that have deserted beaches that you can laze in the sun for hours on end, but if you are looking for a little bit of company for the evening you can always book an excursion where you can meet like- minded people for friendship and then the next day you can return to your deserted beach.
Spain gives the perfect balance for a solo traveler on holiday allowing the freedom to decide when and where they would like company.
2. Cruise (Caribbean)
Going on a cruise is a perfect holiday for a solo traveller and what better place to go on a cruise than the Caribbean with it’s crystal clear blue seas, golden beaches and all day sunshine.

For a solo traveller a cruise is perfect for meeting people as many people on the cruise will be travelling on their own and you can quickly build up a circle of friends while on your cruise. What’s more, when the ship docks at certain islands instead of going off on your own you can explore the island as a group. Of course alternatively you can always explore the local area on your own which gives you the freedom to go where you like when you like.
Then when you are back on the cruise ship you can either meet back back up with your friendship group or take some me-time by the swimming pool.
3. Sightseeing (Greece)
Greece is the perfect place to visit if you are interested in history. After all the Greek civilisation is one of the oldest in the world offering such sights as the Acropolis.

If you are on a solo vacation it’s best to book your holiday through a company that will organise your flights, hotels and excursions to all the amazing sights that Greece has to offer. It will most likely involve a lot of coach trips to places such as the Parthenon in Athens, but this is the best way to pack in as much as possible on your vacation and if you are travelling alone then it’s the perfect way to start a friendship on the coach.
So those are my three best destinations for a solo holiday that also offers the chance to strike up friendships, but also giving you the ability to have freedom to go where and when you want on your own while on holiday.
