Post Christmas at our home
Christmas is over for another year and I thought I would reflect on some of the high points for me and my family.
I feel at times that Christmas has had the longest build-up ever. It seems to have started back in September! We’ve had months of planning, buying presents and wrapping all for an hours worth on Christmas morning.
That moment when your little ones see the presents Santa has left for them – worth it? OMG!! Yes! It’s wonderful and magical to see their little faces light up as they rip open their presents, take a quick look and move on to the next.
Some traditions are being layed in stone like the Christmas Eve box and reading Christmas stories.
As the day moves on you welcome family to your home to celebrate Christmas Day. In my case to have my wife, my mum and all my children together if only for a few hours is wonderful and completes me as a person.
This year the twins have seen Santa a ridiculous amount of times! I think it’s about seven, far too many, but still they are only little once, although next year that will be reduced!
We went to Bluestone Wales for a pre-Christmas trip and it was brilliant. I think without a doubt our favourite was the pantomime Cinderella. I have never been to panto before, but already I’m thinking which one next year.
I feel very fortunate to have been blessed with a beautiful family that is very close and enjoy being in each other’s company.
The only down side was my 20 year old daughters relationship broke down with her boyfriend and she was very pre-occupied, but we made sure she was happy. I’m sure she will be fine, just bad timing.
It’s all over now and we have to wait another year for the most magical time of the year where dreams really do come true.
