Quick and Easy Half-Term Tea & Lunch with Aldi Dad Lab
With half-term upon us it is always difficult to entertain the kids all day. Usually, if you’re anything like me you will go out on day trips, which of course is a great way to occupy the kids.
Of course when you are out all day meal-times are difficult and quite often you have to have a quick and easy recipe meal on hand to feed the kids!
One such day happened during half term. I had been to a local farm for the day and we had a picnic while we were there, but time had run away with me and by 4pm my four year twin girls were very hungry. We were still about a 20 minute drive away from home.
Thankfully I teamed up with Aldi Dad Lab and this is a very quick easy meal to prepare and cook in no time at all.

The meal is sausages, beans and mashed potatoes. A very traditional British meal, but with a twist!
The mashed potato is creamy mashed potato and so simple to do.
1. Peel the potatoes, bring them to the boil, then simmer for about 20mins. When ready I added a twist which was, cheese and milk. I then mashed them together to give fluffy, cheesy mash potatoes!
2. Fry sausages in frying pan on a low heat to make sure they’re cooked throughly

3. Warm baked beans in microwave
4. Serve on a plate and the whole meal is ready to eat in under 30 minutes!

Another quick and easy recipe/meal you can make for either lunch or tea is cheesy pasta always a big hit with my twin girls.
1. Bring the pasta to the boil then simmer the pasta until it’s soft that takes about 20minutes.
Make the cheese sauce here is a recipe for a lovely homemade one.
Method
Melt the butter in a saucepan.
Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Take the pan off the heat and gradually stir in the milk to get a smooth sauce. …
Simmer gently for 8-10 minutes and season with salt and white pepper.
Stir in cheese and allow to melt.
Serve with chopped ham.

That’s two quick and easy meals/recipes to serve up during half-term.
The girls are fed and watered and ready to go again! The perfect end to the perfect day. All the ingredients for these recipes/meals were purchased from Aldi.

For me beans, are a real ultimate comfort food.
My kids (much older than yours), still love mash and sausage for tea.
Great tips. I came via #thatfridaylinky
