My First Bananagrams Review.

Recently I did a review of party Bananagrams and then I was sent My First Bananagrams to play with my four year old twin girls.
My First Bananagrams is suitable for children aged 4+. The game uses lowercase letters and combo-letters tiles to encourage your child’s love of wordplay and word games it has multiple mini-games and activities all children can enjoy.

Some of the mini games are for the pre-schooler is spell your name, abc’s in order and letter match.
For the early reader there is sound it out, which is pick a letter and then think of words that start with that sound. Word families using a consonant with a combo letter tile.

For the reader there is a mini-game called criss-cross which is great fun getting two simple three letter words to cross over each other the girls loved this game.
There is a baseline on the tiles to show the letters correct orientation, the combo-letters help word building and all the vowels are yellow to make them easier to spot.
The game is so easy to play that the girls got to grips with it very quickly.
They loved the fact that you called split to start and the race was on to use all their letters up to make a word grid and when they had completed a word grid they couldnt wait to call out bananas. Adding to the fun of the game.

The girls have just started school full time and they beginning to learn their ABC and this is a perfect game to encourage their learning and without a doubt is improving spelling and helping their reading skills in identifying letters.
My First Bananagrams is a game I would highly recommend and is available at all high street retailers and costs £15.00 approx (price correct at time of publication)
