REVIEW: Karcher FCV 4 Vacuum Mop

Disclaimer: I was gifted the Karcher FCV 4 Vacuum Mop in exchange for my honest review

Living in a busy household often leaves our floors looking a little sorry for themselves. From muddy football boots to cat paw prints, trying to keep the floor clean can often be a time-consuming activity. My current spray mop is great for a quick clean up, but it just doesn’t tackle stains such as tea, coffee and mud.

This week, we’ve been trialing the Karcher FCV 4 Vacuum Mop and the results have been great.

The Kärcher FCV 4 vacuums and mops in one motion, and it comes with everything you need to get started:

  • Instruction manual
  • FCV 4 suction mop
  • Cleaning and charging station
  • A microfibre roller
  • Fat fold filter
  • Foam filter
  • Cleaning brush
  • Universal cleaner (30 ml)

Because it vacuums and mops at the same time, you’ll save 50% of your cleaning time by eliminating the need to pre-vacuum. Getting started is east. Just clip in the handle, pull out the water compartment, fill with either cold or luke warm water and add one capful (per 400ml of water) of cleaning solution, replace the compartment and you’re ready to go at the press of a button.

I really like that the on/off button is on the handle so you don’t have to bend down. What’s more, it has dynamic control sensors which automatically detects dirt levels to adjust water flow and suction power for the most efficient clean possible.

The display is really helpful as it offers live performance feedback and lets you know if direct has been detected by lighting up on the left hand sand or an error, by lighting up on the right hand side. It also tells you the battery status, plus you can choose from 4 cleaning modes: auto, dry, power and stair.

Engineered for large family homes, the advanced mop features a brushless motor and 45-minute runtime, covering up to 200m² per charge which is perfect for our home.

It also has a specialized Stair!Assist mode which provides a balanced clean for steps, plus the hygienic spin technology is lab-tested to remove 99% of bacteria from surfaces like Parquet, Laminate, Vinyl, and Stone. Maintenance is effortless with the system clean cycle, which flushes internal components in 80 seconds. Paired with machine-washable rollers and duo pure filtration, the FCV 4 ensures your home is as hygienic as it is spotless.

It’s really easy to use and powerful. It made tackling tea, coffee and food stains on the kitchen floor really easy. With my usual spray mop, I have to get on my hands and knees and scrub as these stains, but with the Karcher FCV 4 Vacuum Mop, I didn’t need to bend down at all because the mop got rid of the stains without any additional effort from me. What’s more, I like that it fits under the cupboard units so it provides a close-up clean for even the most hard to reach areas.

Charging is really easy. You just plug the cleaning and charging station in, put the vacuum and mop on the stand and let it do its thing. Really easy and quick.

Overall, I’m very impressed with the Karcher FCV 4 Vacuum Mop. It’s really easy to use with straightforward controls and does a great job at cleaning both our kitchen and bathroom floor. It’s available to buy from the Karcher website and it’s currently priced at £359.99 (price correct at time of publication).
