The cost of living is at an all time high, and there is no doubt that lots of people are struggling to make ends meet. It’s getting more difficult to earn enough money to cover all of our outgoings whether that be mortgage, rent, food and all of the utility bills that we have pay every month.

One particular utility bill that has recently gone through the roof in cost is the water bill. For many years water has been charged at a rate which unfortunately put pressure on water companies to improve the infrastructure of supplying water to homes so consequently this year, many people found a large increase in their water bill.

The higher cost of water has certainly made many of us think about how we can reduce the amount of water we use in our homes. This is especially true if you are a gardening enthusiast and have a large garden. It’s very expensive to use water from the tap, especially through the hot summer months.

The one thing we can be guaranteed of in the UK is rain. When it rains in the UK it usually doesn’t stop for weeks on end and we are letting all that rainwater go to waste.

A water tank in your home can save that rainwater and you then can use that for multiple uses around the home. It’s important to decide what type of water tank you want in your home. This will depend on what you want to use the water for. For example, if you are looking for a water tank that you can use for water consumption and cooking, this would require a potable water tank. If you are looking for a water tank that will only be used for watering the garden, washing the cars or cleaning the windows etc, then a non-potable water tank would be perfect.

Many people would think that a water tank can be large and quite often an eyesore, but not any more. Water tanks come in many different sizes, shapes and even colour. The cost of installing a water tank can vary for a number of factors. Firstly, what size of water tank you are installing and the material used and, of course, an underground water tank will cost more to install.
