One of the most hectic times in our home is the morning. Getting ready for school generally speaking is not hassle free, but it can be made easier, so I thought I would share a few tips to make the ever so wonderful school run a little less stressful. It works for us and it would be a rarity for us to be late for school.
Between the hours of 7.30am and 8.30am on a school day, our home can be chaotic! This is usually down to the fact that we’re about to enter the toughest part of the school week. Yes, it’s the school run! You either dread it or love it.
You can of course love it, well almost love it, with just a little bit of pre-planning and organisation the night before.
Here are my top two tips to get you through the school run without a hitch.
1. I have always found that if your children have packed lunches for school, preparing it the night before means in the morning all you have to do is whip it out of the fridge and put it into your kids rucksacks ready to go.
2. My twins are six years old, and I lay their uniforms out on the end of their beds the night before and this is the important part for me, I start telling them to put their uniforms on from about 7.45am. That way by 8.30am they should be ready to go.
3. If your home is anything like ours, we have a huge pile of shoes in the porch. I always make sure the girls school shoes are out and ready close to the front door.
4. In my head I have set times that I start asking the girls to do things like brush their teeth sort out their hair etc.
I have found that by doing this, our morning is organised, and if anything the girls are now starting to do a lot of this without having to be asked time after time until you are screaming at them to get ready.
So these are my few tips for a hitch free successful school run without any stress.
