The Quickest and Safest Way to Clear your Garden

February 17, 2016

For those of you who are regular readers of my blog, you’ll know that today is the day we’re moving house.

It’s been a stressful few weeks in the lead up to the move, but there are some things you can do quickly to help reduce the stress and make the move quicker.
My wife loves gardening so I left her to sort the garden out. As we’re renting we have to leave the house clean and tidy. That includes the garden as well.
Being organised is the key to a quick clear out, but you’ll also need to make sure that you’re being safe too. Not just for your own safety, but also to look after wildlife too.
Whilst my wife takes good care of our garden, over the winter the grass and borders have become slightly overgrown.

Strimmer a are great because they spin at a high speed to cut grass and weeds meaning the job can be done quickly.
It’s important to be safe and use it properly though. There are quite a few potential hazards.
Flying debris is probably the main hazard so it’s important to ensure that you wear the correct safety equipment. This includes eye goggles and protective gloves.
A common mistake is ensuring that you keep the power cable out of reach from the head of strimmer.
My wife also wears ear defenders to protect her hearing. Using a strimmer causes noise and vibrations.
As mentioned above it’s important to be aware of wildlife such as hedgehogs, frogs and birds. You’ll need to check the area that you’re about to strim thoroughly.
I hope you find these tips handy! Wish us luck with our move!
