Upgrading The Doors And Door Furniture In your Home
Eighteen months ago, after living in rented accommodation, we were finally in a position to buy our first ever home. It took a lot of sacrifice and going without a lot of the luxuries of life to save enough money for a deposit, but we did it.

Our first ever home was in quite a state and was going to need a complete renovation as it hadn’t been updated for many years. Thankfully being a painter and decorator I was able to do a lot of the renovations myself.
It took about two months to take everything back to scratch and start again, but that meant we would be able put our own stamp on our very home.
There was a lot of painting to do and we had to fit a new kitchen, the list was endless. The list of tasks was long, ranging from installing practical customised shelving to repainting the cabinets to adding a few lovely knick-knacks.
One thing that was pointed out to us in the survey was all the doors would need be replaced because they were part glass and the glass in the doors was not safety glass. This was due to the age of the doors being nearly fifty years old.
We were finally at a point where we could decide on what type of doors we wanted and also more importantly what style and type of door furniture we would like. The door is an entrance to a room and it was very important that it was a door that complemented the colours and decoration that we applied to every room but was also complimentary to the age of the property.
So we finally decided on light oak grooved solid doors which definitely add a touch of class and sophistication.
So now we knew which doors we wanted, our thoughts turned to door furniture. We did some research online and came across Olbra Hardware. They have a fantastic range of door handles. Anything from traditional lever door handles to mortice door knobs. Olbra Hardware supply all the door handles in many finishes from polished steel, polished brass to polished chrome. Now we had the difficult task of deciding what to actually finish off our new doors.

We finally decided on polished chrome lever handles as we felt they were most in keeping with the re-decoration we had done.
So the doors looked perfect. Olbra Hardware also supply all door accessories such as door locks which of course we needed for the bathroom and the door accessories matched the handles we had picked perfectly. We also purchased robe hooks for the bedrooms which also came in polished chrome. we were also able to purchase all the hinges in polished chrome so everything matched perfectly.

We have now been in our new home for about eighteen months and it’s lovely to sit and relax in our completely renovated home and the doors and door furniture we choose definitely complements every room.
