Where Can Men Of Today Go To Talk About Anything?

June 17, 2021

The world has changed so much in recent years. The internet is now very prominent in everyones lives. As such this has transformed how we communicate with friends and family. It also means when we have an issues in our lives, we can go online in an instant to a variety of forums and websites in search of answers to those questions that, as a man or a father, we wouldn’t normally ask a family member or friend. The anonymity that this type of communication can give is that you can ask a personal question and receive advice from other dads and men who can offer experiences of a similar nature.

One particular website that I’ve recently come across is called ‘Men Who Blog’. It’s a lifestyle website and blogger community that features a collection of male bloggers and influencers. They are quite simply, a group of male bloggers that create new content with the aim of helping other men.

Men Who Blog have recently launched a new feature called ‘Ask The Men‘. This is designed to give advice on how dads or men of any age can handle difficult situations that they may be facing.

Men are of course notorious at not opening up and showing their feelings. Although it has improved over recent years, sadly it is in some communities thought to be a sign of weakness. Some say that men shouldn’t be asking other men for advice. This is of course total nonsense and the stigma around this needs to be removed from society.

Here are a few things that men invariably won’t ask a family member or friend for advice on:

Being a dad

When I became a dad to twin girls 9 years ago, in truth the internet was still very much in its infancy. If I’m totally honest I didn’t have a clue and I would sometimes just think I wish there was somewhere I could have asked a question. This could have been anything from why are they not sleeping well or in our case why does one of our girls keep throwing up straight after eating? When you ask family or friends their answers were usually of no help because they hadn’t experienced it, and if I’m honest I quite often felted judged as if I should have known the answers. Sadly I never did.

Men who Blog and their feature ‘Ask The Men’ feature would have been the perfect answer all those years ago because the chances are somebody was either experiencing the same problem or they had gone through exactly the same problem in the past and could have given advice on how to deal with it. So if you are a new dad and looking for answers then the ‘Ask The Men‘ feature is spot on. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed!

Over the years I have been in many situations where some real time advice would have been invaluable and I probably would have not made the mistakes when it comes to things such as fixing my car and the many DIY mishaps that I have had over the years.

Who do you ask for advice when it comes to being a dad or DIY jobs or anything as a man? I would love to hear in the comments below.
