Don’t have an ideas file? What are you waiting for? Almost every creative person under the sun has an ideas file; that’s because inspiration can strike like lightning, and when it’s gone, it’s gone forever. With an ideas file, you can capture some of that special energy and use it on your blog. 

Every writer operates in a different way and has a different approach to their ideas file. Some of us keep the file on our phones because it’s most convenient to open a writing app and take a note. Phones are also cross-platform, but they can be faulty – so consider a notebook as well. 

Create New Angles for Old Blogs

If you’re really stuck on a content idea, then use the Google auto-search function to find searches that are relevant. But wait, don’t you still need an idea to search? That’s a good question. The answer is yes, but all you have to do is find an idea relating to your website. 

It can be an idea. In some ways, the more general the idea, the better. Type a word or phrase into the search bar, and you will get a list of search terms in the auto-search bar – this is in the search bar for Google Search, not the browser. Then reinterpret the searches for your blog.  

Expand Existing Content 

Bloggers and writers, and when writers need to increase word counts, they usually start by expanding a section that’s already written. So whether it’s a section of a previous post you’ve written or a section of inspiration from someone’s blog, you should have plenty of material.
