Why do some children's TV shows appeal

March 3, 2015

It has never ceases to amaze me why some children’s programmes stop kids in their tracks and make them watch them.

Our twins are three years old and certain shows on ceebeies they just stop and watch. For example, Bing, they love him and will watch it from beginning to end. I have no idea why! I have watched it and just don’t get the attraction! Is it colour, gentle voices? What do they identify with? After all the characters are not human, but they love shows that have animals in them and I get the appeal there as animals are different and interesting.
Then there’s Salty Jack. Really not interested yet they are all human with a dog.
I suppose I would love to get inside our three year old twin girls heads which of course is impossible, but what fun it could be if you could and that is one of joys of being a parent – being left to work them out!
So I hope children’s programmes live forever to give our girls enjoyment forever.

    It's a Bing thing!
There are a few shows that all 3 of my Triplets will stop in their tracks for, Bing is one of them (although they call it "flop").

Mine have always mostly just watch the theme tunes to kids TV, although my youngest REALLY loves Something Special and a similar Welsh program called Dwylo'r Enfys. Thanks for linking up with #MultipleMadness
