Why I enjoy having the girls to myself one day a week
Every Monday I am a stay at home dad because my wife works two days a week and child care costs an absolute fortune!
When I initially said that I didn’t mind staying home on a Monday and mostly work Saturdays I was very unsure because up to that point my wife was on maternity leave and had done everything.
I was unsure about the girls needs such as a sleep at lunchtime. How do you get twins to sleep at the same time?!
I think I had only done it once or twice, but for all that I got on with it. It’s not easy to begin with, but like everything I got into the habit of doing it
They were about one year old when I started looking after them on a Monday. It was easy because we had a routine and that got you through the day.
I have now being looking after them for one day a week for two years and the whole day just flies by.
I have a set plan in my head of what we are going to do and the girls are generally very good and occupied. The bond I have formed with my twin girls is awesome. I love every minute we spend together. They are more understanding now so it’s easier to get things done. As an older dad to little ones second time around I feel blessed that the girls will remember these days with joy.

The thought of looking after twins would have me trembling in my boots!…It can't be easy. It is lovely that something you were so unsure about has worked out well and that you and your daughters are building so quality memories together. I am sure that when your girls are older they will look back and remember the time when Dad braided their hair wrong or had no idea how to braid their hair with just as much fondness as you.

Wow, I'm so glad you enjoy your stay-at-home Dad day. As a person who grew up with a stay-at-home Dad, I never knew better and then I read in a kids'magazine that most kids have stay-at-home Moms. Then again, my Mom Always worked fulltime and my Dad stayed home fulltime. It's wonderful when the parents can share. #PoCoLo

That's lovely that you get a day to spend with your girls like that, I bet they love it! My husband works 5/6 days a week so doesn't get the chance to do that with our son very often xx

I become a stay at home dad for most of the time (shift worker so plenty of time off) and like you I love that time when it is just me and my daughter.
