5 Cool Birthday Presents for an 18 Year Old

July 10, 2017

Buying gifts, including birthday presents for your 18 years old is, understandably, a daunting task; teens are arguably the hardest to shop for. You could spend hours looking online for an awesome gifts website. This is because at this age, your once little kid is finally transitioning into an adult. Your gift should by no means hint childishness, nor should it be overly mature. It’s a fine line when it comes to the late teens! Because they can be so difficult to buy for, I put together a bunch of suggestions that just might work.

Get them a Personalized Book

You can give your teenager the ultimate thrill by investing in a personalized book that could take you just a few minutes to create. The book should contain a detailed description of their journey through the world, including when they were born while being packed with original illustrations and artwork that are based on their experiences. Ensure to include a bunch of wonderful memories, weird facts and figures that are carefully personalized for the teenager in question.

The Perfect Evening Dress

As your teenager enters adulthood, it is not unusual to see their relationship with friends taking a new turn. Friends will evolve gradually into girlfriends and boyfriends and many are the occasions when your teenager will want to go out on dates with their partner.
It is, therefore, a good idea to give your daughter the perfect evening dress, or get your son a nice suit. It’s something that will always come in handy and represents a bit of a milestone for your child becoming an adult!

A Personalised Work Planner

While a work planner is often an extremely useful gift, it is not among the most breath-taking options, so you don’t want it to be the only present you give to your 18-year-old. With so many exams going on and the added responsibility of keeping track of the syllabus, timetables, birthdays and dates, a work planner could be the most thoughtful gift ever. To make the work planner more exciting, you could have it personalised with pictures or inspirational quotes.

A Keepsake Box

Both female and male 18-year olds could appreciate getting a keepsake for their variable treasures, including jewellery and car keys. You could have this box personalised with their names or have it hand painted or handcrafted for a better effect.

Get them an Experience they can Never Forget

Rather than getting your 18-year-old a gift that they may not use, consider getting them a memorable experience. Your ability to customise your teenager’s experience is probably the best aspect of this gift. You could fulfil their dreams by allowing them to do what they have always wanted. For instance, a classic experience day could be great if your teenager likes to have an adrenaline-filled exercise for an utter daredevil. What teenager would not want to drive a fast car at crazy speeds, slam on the breaks and snip at targets from the window before speeding off again? How about setting off into the sunset on a hot air balloon? This is a milestone birthday. So make the gift special and something you’ve never done before.

Finding the perfect birthday gift for your 18-year-old is not an easy task, especially because they probably have all their gadgets. Short of purchasing a pair of woollen socks or a handkerchief, most presents will be met with a half-smile or pure apathy. Finding something that will stay in their memory forever is the best option, and definitely won’t just be chucked at the back of the wardrobe!
