5 Life Lessons That You Can Pass On As A Retiring Dad
As a dad, your plate is always full of responsibilities, right? From managing the kids to helping with the finances; you can never rest entirely. However, when you hold that delicate, little soul in your hands, all the worries run away instantly, and all you can see is the beautiful horizon.

If you think that when you grow old, your responsibilities will reduce, then you are in for some severe trouble, Mr Dad. Even a retiring father has many tasks left to take care of, such as teaching your kids the value of life.
Read on to know what you have to do when you jump into your retirement life:

1. Value of money
You and your wife need to be the guide your kids desire to have in their lives. Even if they have left your house long ago, it is your duty to make them understand the value of money in their lives. The questions: what to do with your money, how to not let it affect your personality and how to grow with it are essential to be answered. With your experience and skills, you can help them get the right answers so that your kids don’t repeat the same mistakes that you have made because of lack of knowledge, and they grow into beautiful and impactful personalities. Tell them to invest at the correct places to make sure it increases as they grow ol
2. Value of time
One can never have enough time for something, right? Tell that to your kids. You have to make them understand the significance of time. The fact that it never stops for anyone should be a lesson in itself. Guide them to make the right use of their day, and make the most of it. This will ensure that they don’t have any regrets in the future. Teach them the importance of punctuality and how it can elevate them as a person.
3.Value of partying
Life is not all about money and work, and your kids need to know about this as well. You may have gone to the best pubs in your youth, partied at the best UK stag do locations, travelled the world and had unforgettable experiences with the locals there, and such memories will add joy to your kids’ lives. They need to know that they should not take life too seriously, and should always find time for partying and creating memories with their loved ones.
4. Value of relationships
Be it love, friendship or family; relationships need to be taken seriously on all occasions. This does not mean that one should not enjoy their lives, but it does mean that one should value other people’s lives too. Tell them that if they handle their relationships well, they will have fruitful connections for the future, which will help them grow in all aspects of their lives. They will also have a sound mind to handle all the situations with perfect solutions; ensuring the best results in their lives.
5.Value of rest
With all the partying and hard work, one should never forget taking optimum rest because their body and mind are valuable too. Miss that work day or the after party, if your body is signalling you to rest for sometime. You can always make those memories or finish that task later on. Your mind and body should be your priority, and the rest will go along with it. Enhance your mind before you grow old.
Life After Retirement

Working out, gathering experience, meeting friends or travelling to the best stag do destinations; one can never learn more than what their elders can teach them. You don’t need to interfere in your kids’ lives after your retirement; just be a shoulder to cry on, friend to expect advice from and bro to have dinner with. Your kids may not ask you for this, but this is something that you should be ready for.
The Father is always the first role model to their kids! Be with them!

I cannot emphasise enough the value of relationships. You know the one thing I didn’t learn until my dad purposefully sat me down to tell me, was that i had to work hard at maintaining relationships. I did not have any idea that i had to actively seek my friends, my parents, and my little brother. As the first born in our family, this is something that has become so handy for me. Thanks for emphasising it in this lovely post. I’m working on my relationships now, and I hope i can get to experience more love that way.
