A Fun Day Out With The Kids That’s Not Expensive

We may be in the middle of winter and yes, it’s cold, and more often than not it’s raining, but that shouldn’t hold us back from having a fun filled day out with the children because there are many indoor places that we can visit. Whenever we go on a day out with the kids we will often be travelling on the train. One reason for this is because it’s easier and the kids get very excited when going on the train.

Museums

Museums are fantastic fun and have a wealth of activities that are going on all year around such as workshops to learn about many topics, and of course you have all the exhibits within the museum to wander around. For children it’s a perfect place to educate them about history and the world around them. You can easily spend the entire day in a museum which is loads of fun for the kids.

Art Centres

There are many art centres in the UK which always have something going on. One in particular that comes to mind is the Battersea Arts Centre. If you’re in Brighton, the easiest way to get there is by train travelling from Brighton to Clapham junction. Battersea Arts Centre is right in the middle of Clapham junction and has so much going on such as theatre shows or comedy. If the weather is not too bad you can also go to Wandsworth Common for a walk and maybe get some lunch.

Indoor Fun Centres

Our twin girls love an indoor fun centre and there are many to chose from in our area. These are usually very inexpensive and the girls usually spend hours having lots fun climbing and jumping and using the slides. It’s a great day out and many of the play centres have cafes so you can grab lunch while there.

Science and Technology Centres

We are very fortunate to have a huge science and technology centre in our hometown. It’s a fantastic place where the girls can experiment and learn in a fun and creative way. It definitely sparks their imagination. This is definitely a full day out and somewhere where the girls love to go.

Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you can’t have fun days out with the kids. There are plenty of places to visit which are indoors and relatively cheap to visit.
