[AD] How To Know When Have You Entered A ReBound Relationship

May 12, 2020

A relationship between two people will always start with you both of you wanting to spend every second of every day of the year together. This is perfectly normal, but sadly not all relationships will stand the test of time and many of them will fail for a number of reasons.

Relationships or marriages are very complicated and complex. When they start out and you are both loved up you think it will last forever and absolutely nothing will split you both up. Of course in the real world that is not always the case and there are a number of reasons that can cause you to split up.

Here are a few reasons why relationships go wrong.

1. People change and their priorities change over time. This can then cause resentment in the relationship that wasn’t there in the beginning. However, like everything in life, relationships evolve and so do people.

2. You can end up taking your partner for granted and the one in the relationship being taken for granted can end up feeling that enough is enough and want out of the relationship.

3. You simply just grow apart and want different things in life which will mean that you end up doing more things separately.

Sadly in a lot of relationships that don’t work out one of the two people usually don’t want it to end and will hold on until the bitter end, even after the relationship has finished they will live in hope that one day it can be re-kindled.

This was me in my early twenties. I met somebody and from the moment we met I was convinced she was the one and we would be together forever and ever, but that was not the case. For reasons that at the time I didn’t understand she finished the relationship and left me devastated. On fact I was so broken hearted I left the city where we lived and moved to a different country, but it never stopped me wanting to be with that person and this would impact on every relationship that I had after we finished. Every relationship I started after that, unbeknown to the other person, was in fact a rebound relationship because I simply couldn’t get that one person out of my mind and invariably the relationship would end because of me. It took a number of years to identify why my relationships weren’t working, but thankfully I did which meant I went on to have more successful relationships.

Here are a few reasons that will be tell tale signs you are in a rebound relationship.

1. In today’s world with the smart phone all of us have thousands of photos on them. If you find your other half still has photos of their ex on their phone it has to be questioned why. Usually the reason is they have not moved on.

2. The need to check your exes social media profiles is another sign that you can’t and haven’t moved on and let go of a previous relationship.

3. You have not deleted your exes phone number and you secretly hope they will ring to let you know they are ok and ask how you are doing.

There are of course many other reasons that are clear signs that you are in a rebound relationship.

The only way you will be able to move on and form a new healthy relationship is to grieve the loss of the relationship that you thought was perfect. It takes time. It is after all a very emotional and difficult thing to start living life without that one person you thought was the one but time is a healer and it’s important to take the time so the next relationship you enter, that you don’t enter it with emotional baggage.

I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

So true – so important not to rush into another relationship and take the time to heal and get over it properly 🙂 #thatfridaylinky

    Good thoughts here.
Before we enter into a relationship with another person, we need to be a whole person ourselves. No connection to a person is going to “complete” us or fill our deepest longings.

Honest post from you so brave to share. I was daft and wanted the happily ever after and thought it was possible for me. Right now not sure what I want #ThatFridayLinky
