[AD] Nativity! The Musical At Wales Millennium Centre

November 19, 2019

Last night we as a family were very fortunate to attend the opening night of Nativity! The Musical at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.

My seven year old twin girls were so excited to see Nativity! The Musical and I was quite excited too because we’re huge fans of the films. We’ve watched them all on numerous occasions and have recently watched Nativity Rocks which of course we loved.

To see it transferred to the stage was only going to be a fantastic experience and we were not disappointed.

Nativity the musical has been adapted for the stage by the creator of the films Debbie Isitt. If you have seen the films then you will know that it’s a feel good story that will make you smile and fill you full of joy.

The story of Nativity! The musical is centred around St Bernadette’s school where they are trying to do a musical nativity play, and of course every child wants to be in the nativity. The only problem is Mr Maddens, who is the teacher organising the Nativity has promised that a Hollywood producer would be coming along to see the Nativity to turn it into a film. Along with the legendary Mr Poppy we got to follow the journey of the children of St Bernadette’s and their teachers.

The show opened with the three main characters stories being told by Mr Poppy (played by Scott Paige) about how they were friends as children and what happened to them as they grew up. It was entertainment of the the top order and the kids were brilliant.

The songs and singing was very uplifting and had an awesome feel good factor to it. The story of nativity transferred to the stage perfectly and I loved every minute of it. There were lots of very topical jokes too which were great. I would highly Recommend Nativity! The Musical as a fun filled and entertaining family night out in the lead up to Christmas.

Nativity! The Musical is showing at the Wales Millennium Centre from November 19th until the 23rd November. It’s an awesome production and if you need any help to be put into the Christmas mood then this is the perfect way. It’s a five star show and you can purchase tickets online here from just £18. Nativity! The Musical is recommended for children aged 5+ and is 2 hours 20 minutes long which includes an interval.

We were gifted tickets to the show in return for a review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% mine.

The musical looks great, thanks for sharing the photos! My 7-year old loves musicals, so I take her to see them whenever I get the chance. The last musical that we went to was called ‘Scroogical!’, and it was performed at my daughter’s school by actors from ‘West End in Schools’. We loved it!
    Anyway, great article, cheers!
