5 ways to create your dream garden

Who doesn’t love being in the garden? There are many different ways to enjoy your outdoor space. Perhaps you are a keen gardener, or maybe you just like sitting outside and sharing a bottle of wine with friends from time to time. Whatever you enjoy, why not adapt your garden to suit. Here are some ways to create the garden of your dreams.

Create a furnished decking area

Decking can transform a garden. Whether it’s raised or at ground level, it can create a really attractive seating and relaxation area. There are various types of decking available these days. Gone are the days of traditional wood being the only option. If you prefer something more modern there are loads of composite decking options available. Composite decking can be cleaned very easily and requires minimal maintenance. It is available in different colours and textures and can create an amazing finish. You could also opt for decking tiles. These can be fitted easily by slotting together in a pattern of your preference. 

Outdoor furniture comes in all shapes and sizes. From traditional wicker sets to modern weatherproof sofas, there are many choices available. Add some waterproof cushions to create pops of colour. Deck lighting can also be incorporated or you can always add solar lighting in different areas of the garden. Candles and votives can create lovely mood lighting in the evening. 

Add colour with plants and shrubs

Adding colour can help create your dream garden. Looking out of your window to an array of changeable plants and flowers can be a wonderful experience. Many will provide colour all year round whilst others will be seasonal. When buying, make sure you establish what conditions each grow in and when it is best to plant. Some will flourish in different areas of the garden so be sure to take account of that.

Something more adventurous

Hot tubs are becoming more and more popular these days. They are also becoming more affordable, so if you would like one, your dream may be more attainable than ever. These do require some maintenance so be sure to speak to a specialist before buying.

Privacy will be important to you so it’s a good idea to have some slatted fence panels installed. These will not only give you the seclusion you need but will create a nice finish to your garden regardless.

Allocate an allotment area

Many people dream of having an allotment. If your garden is a decent size, there is no reason why you can’t section part of it off to create an allotment. Growing your own produce is very rewarding and can save you hundreds of pounds a year! 

A space for the kids

Creating an area for the kids might not be your dream but it will probably be theirs! Whether it’s a trampoline, climbing frame or swing set, having activities for kids to enjoy is a great decision. Space for kids to play will not only promise hours of fun for them but can also provide a welcomed break for you!
